Why did you ditch the Tivo? Sounds like it did everything you want just right. I'd have kept hold of it, I think.

Oh man... I'm sinking further into dissapointment... :(

I really thought I was getting a "tivo replacement" and "advanced dvr." I've made quite an investment into this too and am now hitting walls.

Hopefully this problem has been fixed or I'm seriously thinking about abandoning ship.

Edit:

Well, it costs $120 a year for the exact same data (tribune media, I believe) that I can get from schedulesdirect for $20 a year. Plus, MP is sweet!

There was (is?) an experimental feature which added the Live TV buffer to the recording, I think it was introduced not so long back...

Ah, yes, here it is:

Thank you!

Ah yes i'd forgotten about that :)

I've not used it so not sure exactly where it copies from (whether it just copies the whole timeshifting buffer or just from the start of the recorded program)

I think it's a "dumb" feature, so it takes the entire buffer.

Scanning that thread it appears people had mixed results and the dev has apparently gone awol with that feature. Someone reported that it copied only the relevant timeshift buffer so looks somewhat promising.

About to experiment with it and I'll report back here.
