TOP BAR disappears in MP 1.24 pre!! (also in 1.23) (1 Viewer)

Wow!!!....can it be that I'm the only one experiencing this problem?

I think that you are the only person in the entire world who uses a mouse to control MP . However...

Having now tried this on my production system (MP 1.24F on Windows 7), I too cannot get the top bar to appear. By "top bar", I mean the horizontal bar that contains the traditional VCR player controls (play, pause, stop, forward, rewind, record, possibly a few others). There is a skin file called "TopBar.xml" that contains the definitions for these controls.

I tested "DefaultWideHD", with both my usual "Centarea HID" active for the remote control, and with that disabled and a standard MCE remote enabled instead (I also exited from the "Centarea HID" AutoHotKey script, just in case that was interfering with the mouse signals). I also enabled the "Show enhanced mouse controls" setting (in "GUI Controls" in "MP Config"). None of these different combinations could persuade the top bar to appear.

The only thing that did appear was the info OSD, which appeared when I moved the mouse pointer towards the bottom edge of the screen (when playing live TV).

I use the standard EVR (not Madvr), so I think that there is definitely a problem...

Problem solved (well, at least for me ).

You need to enable the TopBar Plugin in "MP Config":



After I did this, the top bar appears in live TV when the mouse pointer is moved towards the top of the screen. Hopefully this solves the problem for @tonewheelkev too.

Just an aside the plugin was enabled by default for me and the topbar has always appeared with mouse movement but I never tended to use it even on my desktop, with mouse as most of the buttons don't work! The playback controls seem OK but volume, close and shutdown are all only functional for me when playing a video, not from TV or the Home GUI, is that intentional? At least now I know how to disable it.

Which skin? As I almost use mouse I can confirm that all buttons work as they should in DWHD and PVHD skins

TopBar plugin has always been installed and enabled....all fine in that respect since 2012 for me!!

Thanks for this Sebastiii.......but having real problems now with MadVR...!
When I open 'edit settings' from the tray, a window opens....but when I click in that window...it disappears (and now MadVR also gone from tray )
So...I've gone back to EVR

Yep maybe something wrong on madVR settings, you can start madVR control panel outside MP [emoji106]
