Welcome in the club. 50% of all post describe this issue.
Nice to know I'm not alone, sorry for not reading the whole thread. Does anyone know about an alternative? Is it difficult to create such a plugin? If someone would recode it, would it be possible to have a low CPU utilization?

I guess the plugin function is not needed for a lot of users - and not for anyone who is able to recode or create a new plugin from scratch. That could be a reason, why there's no progress at all ;)

Cheers,
Neelex

Hello,

please excuse me for not reading all the 33 pages in that thread. I have simple question, maybe you could answer it right away?!

I am running a Zotac Ion ITX A board with ext. PSU in a small LianLi Casxe. My plan is, to connect a MIMO 720 Touch LCD Panel (USB) on the system.

The MP is only used for Musik and Vidoes (DVD, AVI). No live TV, no recording, no DVB-S2...

Two things I do not know/understand:

Is there a way to use the touch screen as a real touchscreen like iPhone or sth like that? scrolling through the music database, ... or at least a navigation arrow to push on. The default skin seems to be only working correctly with a keyboard connected or a well configured Logitech Harmony...
I want the controlling via the touch screen (maybe harmony in addition later).
Second: Can I tell MP to play fullscreen Videos or picture shows NOT on the Touchscreen but the television screen connected via HDMI? Does MP recognize fullscreen and automatically sends the signal to another screen?

Experiences?

thanks alot,
Bug

i am afraid that this won't be possible with mp1, at least now. as far as i know there is no touchscreen capable skin and the existing plugin is not working properly without remote control - according to my experience.

mp2 will be the solution we might have to wait for.

sorry for not having better news ;)

    HI,

    hm, bad news :)
Please, can you tell me, if all these remote controls being discussed in the forum, are always connected via IR connection? No radio? Isn´t it so, that you always have to püoint directly to the receiver with infrared? I would prefer a "radio wave". (sorry for not knowing the right terms).
And why don´t they bring a receiver along with a rather expensive Harmony? That´s ridiculous.

you can use x10 remote controls as well. they are radio controlled via an usb stick. i have one for my bedroom htpc and it works well - finally ;)

there seems to be a lot of crap around. many of the available 'x10' remote controls are cheap copies that do not work very well. i have one of these and struggled weeks with it until it did what i want. one of the biggest problem is the poor range. i bet that you won't have all these problems with an original x10 rc.

thx, are there Win7 drivers for the x10? Is it easy to configure with MP? Will I be able to assign keyboard keys onto rc keys? (esc, up/down, ...)?
How do I know if it´s a cheap version or a well funcioning version of the x10???

    thank you,

at least the drivers i am using are working with win7 (32bit). configuration is pretty straight forward. the x10 rc should be 'mce' compatible, so there might be no need for additional keyboard redirection, but should be possible with tools (do remember the name right now).

how to identify a cheap copy of a x10? no idea, exept price and packaging for example. i bought a bulk one for about 10 euro. for that price i could be pretty sure to get a copy ;)

before this discussion is going to be more offtopic you should decide to open a new thread or you can contact me directly. i do not know much about that stuff but i love to share my experiences.

Heres what i got so far

Its far from finished , i have never written a program from scratch before.
It works off keystrokes and it will find Secondary Display on start . Buttons only so far and in process of photoshop buttons Etc now.

Hopefully you people that acually know what you are doing can help finish :)

Just tried your program here on my eGalaxy touchscreen set to click on release. The main controls (up, down, right, left and back) works like a charm and the process starts up without any problems and seems quite fast and responsive.

Only thing missing now is the ability to see where you are in menues, lists etc. And I guess that this unfortunatly is the hardest thing to do. But oh if you could get that to work it would be perfect!!!

If I may come with a suggestion (if you're of course still working on this), then I think you should focus on getting functionality in order first. When that is done you can change the layout and graphics. I would be happy to help to compile/photoshop buttons etc. and also to test. I can unfortunately not assist in the programming, as I have no experience with this.

Have scraped my Version i was working on and started again will post shortly if any body wants to test .
have only done music now playing which is 85% finished , i added now playing cover and EQ panel and song details.
its written in the MediaPortal.exe that just made i easier for focus issues and stability, Have added a simple animation matrix for the touch screen for visual pleasure . Next step is Virtual keyboard and short cut panel and to build Home screen with Navigation Panel . feel free to post suggestions to add.

make sure your touch screen is set to secondary display and res of 1280 x 720

remember this is not finished and you wont see much till you play a song, but this has become a priority for me and hope to have finished in the next few week, so test and give input now before i finish :)

    sa_ddam213

remember to back up your Mediaportal.exe first :)
