Just look how SIMPLE this is. Every movie have a IMDB page correct? Here, check this link for example:
Twilight (2008/I)

The "tt1099212" extension is the movie specific identifier in their database. We already use this number to import fanart into MovingPictures, either specifying it manually but most of the time, MovingPictures just fetches the data in the background, so Moving Pictures is already associated with this IMDB page.

NOW, almost every IMDB movie page has a video gallery extension for that specific movie, with a movie tagged "trailer". WOW, look at that.
Videos and Trailers: Twilight (2008)

Why cant movie pictures just pull this URL associated with the movie, ie: IMDb Video: Twilight, and imbed a window into the movie select page????

1) Dont put trailers on the main thumbnail page starting automatically. It will cause too much spam, slowdowns, confusion etc.
2) Make is so that when you actually click on the movie, that you put the trailer window on the same page as you movies info page, the one that has the synopsis, cast, fanart etc. Wait 5 seconds, and then start it automatically.

Anyway, I just think this would be so cool. It seems like one of the simplest things to do, but then again, I'm not a developer. I really hope they can fix this up. Thanks for the wonderful work everyone is doing. Its just awesome. The MediaPortal community is the biggest hidden secret on the net.

WTBHelp, as has been made clear above, we are already planning on implementing trailer support for Moving Pictures. And again, as has been mentioned above, there are also several other threads talking about this feature already. Creating yet another thread only serves to scatter discussion and defocus the conversation. And trivializing the difficulty of implementing this enhancement only serves to frustrate the developers.

We definitely appreciate your feedback, but please try to stick to existing threads and keep your comments as constructive as possible.

According to the google-code issue this is planned for the 2.0.0 milestone, is this a final decision?

there is no reason why anyone can't write an external app that scans the database, grabs a trailer, then saves it to the same directory as the movie file. if it was that simple then we would alreay have an external app that does this.

Anyway, BIG THANKS for all the Moving Pictures Team for all they work! Guys, remember that this is free and open source and that the developers have their own lifes, works, family,... so we MUST be patient and comprehensive. They really work very hard on this project so let them do things at their own speed.

The whole community are with you devs, so take your time, we don't have any doubts about your efford.

    Regards,

    Aitor

@bodiroga - that link is to a file renamer, not trailer scraper =)

Are you sure? Have you tried the application? I'm sure you don't :D Download the file, descompress it, install the setup and try the application, it work -more or less, can be better- fine!

    Regards,

    Aitor

PS: I hope that my reply doesn't seem to be rude ;)
