TV card detected but no channels found (1 Viewer)

ATI 550 analog card config NOT WORKING

I have the same problem as users abaove.

TVServer3 - version 03032007
SQLServerExpress
ATI TVWonderElite 550 TV card Analog TV card w/HW encoding
WinXP SP2
Pentium4
1GB RAM

All works fine in MP 2.
In TVServer, card is detected, but scanning does not work, for either TV or Radio.

ALSO -
While the card is detected, one aspect of the card capabilities is not correct.
When I click the radio tab, it shows a dialog stating the card does not support radio. However, this card does have a radio tuner, and the radio function works fin in MP 02.

I could not find any TVServer-specific log files, so I haven't included logs. Would be happy to if someone can point me to them.

Same results with Compro DVB-T750 (unsupported) -- TVServer finds it OK, but any channel scan (dvb-t/analogue, with regions set correctly) fails. The analogue scan completes without finding any channels, and the dvb-t scan displays 'No Signal' for each MHz range scanned.

fwiw, it shows 'Tuner locked: No' under the analogue section, same as others.

edit: Forgot to mention, the bundled TV software (ComproDTV 3) works fine -- good strong signal.

Any news on this?
I have a BT848 chipped card and a HVR-900 hybrid, both SW.
Both cards are detected and no channels are found. With AMCap player it works great.

Hi all, I got the same problem with a Pinnacle 100e USB analog card.

It works correctly with the Pinnacle software.

The media portal TVServer can detect the card, but the scan do not find any channel.

If I add a channel manually I got a "UnknownError"

I`m using the lastest tv server SVN

Some analog software cards will not work as the cards are incomplete internally which makes it very difficult to support them in a general application.

User 'fherrador' made some attempts to fix this, see this thread:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=15772

It does not seem these cards can be used with something other than the Pinnacle application, in other words unusable.
