Hi,
TV does not work after resuming from standby for me.
I have configured TV-service to reninitialize after resume.
I have also configured Mediaportal to restart after resume.

For me these steps reproduces the error:

1. Cleared all logs (client and server)
2. Rebooted the system
3. Started TV (automatic start and full screen) on SVT1, worked OK.
4. Went to Home screen, stopped TV
5. Put PC into standby manually on Home screen
6. Started PC from standby.
7. Started TV again but this time NO picture. Unknown error has occured (translated from swedish).
8. Pressed Ok and tried to start tv again. Could not start timeshifting, No audio or video detected.
9. Tried to choose another channel (SVT2). Unknown error has occured
10. Pressed Ok and tried to start tv again. This time Picture, but on SVT1 that did not work earlier.!?!
11. Closed MP client
12. Started MP again. No TV Unknown error has occured
13. Closed MP client
14 Started TV Server
15 Went into manual control. ALL three cards are timeshifting on SVT1!!!
16. Collected logs

Restarted the TV Service manually and started MP client, TV Works again.

This is really strange. I saw this behaviour alreday in RC2 in SVN 08-22-2008 21-25h - Revision:20010 (reported in that SVN-thread). I have been running RC2 native since then.

For me Mediaportal is running worse for each RC so hopefully someone can find out what is wrong.

Is TV-Server really restarted as configured after resume from standby?
There are ALOT of DX-errors: 2008-10-12 15:52:29.593750 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: DX9 re-entrant, and so on. What is this?

best regards

Found out what was causing this behaviour in MP/TVServer. In MP I had configured "localhost" as the address for TVServer and that stopped working in RC2 SVN and higher. When configuring the LAN IP-address the TV worked after resume.

Hi Folks,

That's strange - isn't this a feature that should work? You should be able to install tvserver and client on the same machine and then use 127.0.0.1 IP address, or localhost to connect.

Otherwise you rely on the machine having a static IP, or the router needs to be working, issuing an IP address and doing DNS properly...

Hi,

Yes, I also found that Network Names no longer work for identifying the TV Server. I had to switch to IP addresses with RC3. Annoying, but not a problem for me anyway as I use static IP's.

Cheers,
Steve.
