After a bit more experimentation the manual control page is inaccessible because of something related to the database contents and I can scan for dvb-s channels and everything works, however, when I set the channel for epg grabbing (as per this guide https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/development-91/sky-uk-uk-freesat-epg-43261/) it is then that the manual control page stops being accessible - am rescanning all of my channels and I'll see if it is either the Brit shorts TV channel and / or the EPG background radio channel that is the root of the problem.

ok - problem kicks in when I delete encrypted radio channels

Okay, it doesn't matter what order I do things in, everytime I delete encrypted radio channels I lose the ability to goto the manual control page - I guess that is pretty simple for me to avoid, just a bit annoying.

and why are there no logs?

    1. i have just tried deleting encrypted radio stations and then enter manual control -> no issue, everything wortks fine
    2. then i tried entering ither sections -> no issue, everything wortks fine
    3. then i deleted more encrypted radio stations and enetered manual control -> no issue, everything wortks fine
    4. then i tried entering other sections -> no issue, everything wortks fine

so i can not confirm that problem.

To be honest no logs because the last person to post logs showed nothing up & having waited 30 mins a pop to reload the channels I quit last night a 1 am happy that it works. If I feel enthusiastic later I'll post some.

I have also the same problem.

It seems like the only way to solve this is to reinstall tv-server...:(

To ease the pain I have found you can just delete the database (remember to stop the TV service first), I've also found that I do not get the problem if I manually delete channels- only if I use the "delete encrypted channels" on the radio channels side of things.

I fixed this by adjusting the sortorder of the 2 Channel Groups I had in the channelgroups table. They both had 9999 and as soon as I changed one to 9998 all was well within Mediaportal ... could use Manual Control as well as the TV Groups section.

Well I'm glad I've found this thread, according to my logs have the same problem. I dont knowhow to edit the sort order of the tables. I'm using MySQL as downloaded and configured by MP 1.0.20. I was using the administrative option on MYSQL gui tools, any advice from anyone in the know.

That is the same thing that happens to one of my HTPCs, only kicks in when I delete the radio channels.

Funny thing is that my other HTPC doesn't suffer the same issue which makes me think that this is a hardware related problem.

Both HTPC's have the same tuner (Winfast DTV1000S), the one that plays up uses an ATI 4350 (Also suffers from the GUI flickering bug when DXVA codecs are enabled for TV), where as the one that doesn't play up uses a Nvidia 9600GT.

Other than that the HTPC that suffers from this problem has a E5200 cpu, GB G31 motherboard, 2GB of DDR2 ram, vista ultimate 32.

The HTPC that works fine has a Q6600, GB P35 motherboard, 4 GB of DDR2 ram, vista ultimate 64.

Won't bother posting logs unless they are wanted.
