Hi guys,

I can't work out what the two timeout options mean on the TV-Server Configuration -> General -> EPG screen mean. There is one timeout under the section "Enable EPG grabbing while timeshifting/recording" and another timeout under "Enable EPG grabbing while idle".

What are these two timeouts? Do they both mean how long the TV-Server will keep grabbing the EPG, but if it takes more than the timeout period, then the grabbing will stop?

If someone can explain, that would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Craig

Craig , you ahve pretty much got it. Please keep in mind that this product is used over in europe as well where there maybe 200 channels to grab epg off the TV cards. These timeouts will just limit how long it will wait before the job is cancelled before moving onto the next channel to grab. Keep in mind that if it grabs all the data before the time out, I believe it will return to idle. Leaving them default for Australia should work fine. I have not touched my settings in this area..

    Hey Charli,

Thanks for the reply. :D I actually changed them last night and pushed them out to like 120 minutes each. I was getting heaps of times when there'd be no program info for some channels, and when I looked at the mini-EPG, some channels would only show like 10% or 20% progress for EPG grabbing ....

Well, anyway, now that I know that's what the options are actually for, I can play around with them as needed to get it all working.

    Cheers,
    Craig
