Yes there is. For some reason (possibly to allow channel or information sharing with Sky) they put logical channel numbers and network information in the bouquet association table (BAT) for Freeview Sat; this stuff is in the network information table (NIT) for Freeview HD. TV Server currently doesn't look at the BAT, hence the problem.

So how does EPGcollector get round this? Does it use the BAT table as that seems to pick up the correct LCNs from the DVB-S Stream...

I guess it must. I haven't looked at that part of the EPG Collector code.

    Hey MM,

deleted channels and stuff. Rescanned and new logs attached. Didn't get time to have a look at whether it had combined the box office ones as I had to rush out to work!

    Cheers,

    Chris

Looks like everything is as "normal" there. Will be interesting to see what you find when you get home...

Rightio, what I will do is save my channel settings. Uninstall MP fully including M***I and do a full rebuild to 1.2.3 standard (both TV server and client). I'll rebuild the MySQL database too. Do a complete scan as setup for freeview from sat and see how it turns out. I presume that if the TV Server channel scan keeps the channels seperate then the client will also display them as seperate?

What I meant above is that it looks like the Sky BO channels have *not* been combined... unless it is done silently by post processing somewhere.

Keep in mind that you have two "tools" available to you:
    1. Import/export.
    2. Switch databases at any time.

    (1) is hopefully self explanatory. Export channels; delete channels in configuration; new scan.
    (2) means you can keep a "production" DB intact while doing experiments. If you run TV Server configuration (SetupTv.exe) with the /configure-db command line switch (ie. right click on shortcut, select properties, enter /configure-db after the ...\SetupTv.exe", click OK ... or use a terminal AKA command line), it will start TV Server with the DB connection dialog. If you enter a new DB name in there, a fresh DB will be created. The old one still remains intact. You can switch back to the old database ("MpTvDb") by configuring the database name in the "DefaultProvider" tag in the gentle.config file found in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server. The gentle.config file can be edited in any text editor.

Note: do not use the /configure-db option to switch back to the old DB. If you /configure-db with the old database name, the old DB will be wiped.

    Hey,

I realise that is what you meant, but as I'm running Miroslavs 1.3a install at present I figured it would be best to just drop to a native 1.2.3 and see what happens.

Didn't realise about the DB thing... Interesting stuff this mediaportal malarky :)

    Hey MM,

So after an arduous 5 hour reinstallation effort last night during the stormy hours, I managed to get 1.2.3 installed and scanning without MDAPI active. Ironically enough, the HTPC was having massive tuner issues and was often not able to use the channels once scanned. Anyway, a default native 1.2.3 picks up all the channels individually and does not combine them in to a single channel. I was wrong earlier about which plugin I was using, it is Miroslav22's Sky UK/AUS/IT one not DJBlu's. Either way, I installed both after I had got the channel output from the native install. Scanning with both (install after a full uninstall) causes the channels to merged in to one so it is obviously an issue with what ever modifications their applying to the default TV Server code.

Thanks for you help any way mate

    Chris.
