Hi again.

It worked fine, but now I get no signal. In the TV server config panel, I am able scan and receive channels.

When in MP, I get the no TV signal. (black screen)

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

OK well, seems like MP was trying to load on a tv channel that appeared in the channel list (in the config panel) but for which I did not get reception (antenna probably moved). So it gave me black screen then stopped. Everything back to normal now.

Sorry for the false alert. I'm actually importing EPG. It worked but not for one channel. I guess I associated it with a bad channel name. I'll try to find the solution anyway.

Thanks and sorry again!

Hi again!

Quick question: Is is possible to record tv while watching with a single tv tuner card. I realized that I could not today, but it says here that it is possible!?

Yes, you can watch and record two different shows at the same time with only one DVB or ATSC TV card. A separate TV card is only required for channels on different transponders (frequency) or with analog tuners.

If not, would buying another card allow me to do this? (2 x HVR-1250)

Thanks again!

Yes, it is possible... but the channel(s) that you're watching and recording must be on the same frequency, otherwise it is physically impossible for the tuner and therefore also impossible for MediaPortal (and any other software). In other words, this only works for certain channel combinations.

    Ok thanks.

Now sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but how can I know if it is on the same frequency or not?

    Thanks again

(I hope it's ok I continued the same post and did not create a new one for a different subject than mysql. Sorry if not)

Some (most?) MediaPortal skins will show you which channels you can access:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...diaPortal_Configuration/22_TV/TV_Client#Guide

If you start a recording on one channel then open the mini-guide, the channels that are still available are the ones that are on the same frequency. The channels that are not available are on different frequencies.

Ok, I won't investigate now, but I'll try the mini-guide and confirm (or infirm) channels are on the same frequency a little later!

Thanks again for your prompt support :)

Oh and by the way, I try to manually add an OTA channel. I searched the forum plus the internet, but did not fin any answer (well only partial).

    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...guration/03_TV_Channels/Add_or_Edit_a_Channel

Where do I find all the info for an ATSC channel?

Found this but no help https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/edit-atsc-channel-now-requires-tuning-frequency.103989/
    • Frequency information?
    • Modulation used = 8 VSB, for OTA (right?)
    • Network ID?
    • Transponder ID?
    • Service ID?
    • PMT PID?
    • Provider?
Found this too. I live in Quebec City

    Thanks!

May I be so bold as to ask why?
It should almost never be necessary to create a channel manually, so to me this is an unusual thing to want to do.

Where do I find all the info for an ATSC channel?
If you're asking where do you find the values for those fields then the answer is that you're expected to know or find the correct values, presumably by copying from a TV, set top box, internet lineup info or some other source.
