Hi,

I Have successfully installed 1.3 Beta on Windows Server 2012 however when I run the TV Server Configuration I get an empty server list (see below).

I am running a Hauppauge HVR-2200 and using SQL Server 2008 R2.

Seems to work ok on Windows 8 but not Server 2012.

Thanks.

    Hello and welcome!

Have you read the "Unsupported OS" section in our requirements page:
    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal/requirements

We don't support server operating systems because they don't include TV tuner support.
Having said that, search the forum and you'll find plenty of people who are running server operating systems after patching in the TV support.

Hi, i had the same idea. To reduce energy costs i wanted to consolidate my tv-server and my ESX Virtualization Host to have only one 24/7 machine. Because my hardware doesn't support "passtrough" i decided to change my virtualization platform from Vmware VSphere 4.1 to windows server 2012. With this setup i am able to run the TV-Server on the native machine, and the others (Development servers and stuff) as virtual machines.

Due to the fact my current TV-Server runns on 2008R2 i was aware that i had to "reinstall" BDA support to get the TV-Cards (4x PCI Technisat Skystar 2 HD) working. As hard it was to get things up and running on W2k8R2, figuring the right drivers, as easy it was on 2012. Adding BDA support works like this: extract the needed files from a matching client os and import them on the server. the matching criterias are Kernel, Bit-version and Language. While Bit and Language are easy to understand here are the kernel matchings (Vista=server2008; win7=server2008r2, win8=server2012) also make sure both systems also have the same patchlevel, at lease the major patches and Service Packs.

I found a website (http://www.tenniswood.co.uk/technology/windows/adding-bda-support-into-windows-server-2012/) somebody already provided the BDA files for Server 2012. I imported the drivers, installed Dot net 3.5 and "Desktop Experience" rebooted and finally installed the technisat drivers. NOW the mystery begins ;-) i installed mediaportal and yes the cards are there. I can scan for channels and i get a level on signal strengh and quality but no channels are found. If i unplug the sat-cable there is no level on signal and quality for me this seems "somehow" the card is working but not really "tuning" but thats only guessing. Does somebody have any ideas?

    thanks four your reply,

i ain't got scambled channels, so i did not enable the cam. Just double checked with the running system, it's the same setting there. As i mentioned, it's a really strange behaviour. I swapped cards between the systems to make sure i's not the card no luck, the card seems to be fine.

    Cheers

    Hi,
sure i updated the channels list prior trying to scan. Attached you'll find screenshots and the TV-Log.
    Hopefully you can see something.

    Cheers

wow long time no see! sorry, my Company send me abroad so there was no time for me to continue with MP. @Vasilich i checked what you mentioned, i have a Quad LNB and 4 Technisat SkyStar 2HD Cards directly connected to it so i guess DiSeqC isn't needed right?. The drivers are directly downloaded from Technisat so no clue where that "Clone-Thing" comes from.

In the mean time i purchased new USB-Cards (Technotrend TT S2 4600) because the Server2012 Mainboard has not enough PCI Slots. So here comes the real funny part, i still have no luck scanning for channels even with the USB-Cards BUT if i import the channels from my working 2k8r2 Server i can watch them on my 2012 Server. Isn't that strange?

    Cheers MrXfree11
