I'll try that for you .

Do you want me to delete the "NoCaptureFilterDevices.xml" from post #32 or leave it where it is ?

Sorry, I should have said: you'll need to leave that where it is.
The only thing that has changed in this build is that there is more information about your tuners put into the logs. Once we get that information we'll be able to decide whether it is feasible to try something that would eliminate the need for the XML file.

    Thank you for testing :)

I just tried the new TVLibrary.dll , It works with no apparant problems

    Log.zip -
I followed your instructions , deleted all logs, and restarted TV Server , then loaded MediaPortal . I tuned a channel from my dongle , then a channel from my DVB-S card , a channel from the dongle again and finally a channel from the DVB-S card again .

    reboot log.zip -
Deleted all logs , rebooted my media pc and followed the same procedure of trying different channels , all seems to work well .

I hope these logs are a help to you .

A big thank you once again Ninja 12 for testing :D

I'm pleased to report that your logs proved that we should be able to detect and avoid the issue that you encountered much better than we have up until this point without the need for any sort of "hard-coded" list either in the source code or in an XML configuration file. The fix that we've devised should also be smart enough and generic enough to work for tuners that haven't even been released. :)

Could I ask you to please test the attached patch?

All being well this should be the last version of this patch that you'll need to test. Having said that, the fix does have a small chance of affecting the other tuners that were on the list. I've PM'd one user who owns each of those tuners in the hope that we'll be able to confirm that the fix is good for those tuners as well.

    :)

    BTW:
    - there is no need to do a reboot test unless you want to double check
    - the XML file is not required any more ;)

    Hi cfforce

Thank you for your willingness to test. I *really* appreciate it! :)

If you could test the system with the FireDTVs in it that would be ideal. This issue only seems to occur when you have different kinds of tuners in the system too. Having said that, it isn't the end of the world if you haven't got the FireDTVs any more. Only one system needs to be tested...

    Okay, procedure for testing is:
    1. Stop TV Server.
    2. Take a backup of the TVLibrary.dll in your TV Server install folder.
    3. If you're going to test 1.1.2, extract the most recent DLL I posted for Ninja 12 into your TV Server install folder. Otherwise if you're going to test 1.2.0a, use the TVLibrary attached to this post.
    4. Delete your TV Server log files, which are in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log on XP or C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log on Vista/7.
    5. Start TV Server.
    6. Tune to one channel on each of your tuners.
    7. Zip up your TV Server logs and post them here.

If things go well then you shouldn't notice any difference with the new DLL.
If things go badly then you may experience slow tuning or hanging.
Just let me know if the instructions don't make sense and I'll try and explain in more detail.

Thank you once again in advance :D

    mm1352000,

here are the logs, from a 1.2.0a machine (Tevii S660) and a 1.1.2 machine (FireDTV); the dual tuner Tevii (1.1.2) i couldn't test yet..
In my short tests i couldn;t find any problem; and will continue using this dll file; if i find a error i will reply on this page.

    Hi again cfforce

The logs are perfect - that is exactly what I was hoping to see :D
If you're happy to keep using the DLL then I'd appreciate that. There should be no difference to using the regular DLL except one line in the log when you first tune to a channel on the TeVii:

    Code:
dvb: tuner filter is also capture filter

Thank you once again for testing.

    Hi again ,

I've tested the new patch , all seems to be working well but there is an error log in the MediaPortal folder .

I've followed the same procedure as before , but also removed the .xml file as well .

Mediaportal log.zip and tv server log.zip are from when I restarted the tv server and then loaded MediaPortal , then tuned a couple of channels .

The error file is in the mediaportal log.zip . I got no errors on screen and MediaPortal seemed to be working properly .

reboot log.zip - I deleted all logs and rebooted , just to double check .

I hope these help , If you want me to try anything else , just let me know .

    Hi again Ninja 12

Thank you for your time, patience and willingness to test so many patches :D

I've tested the new patch , all seems to be working well but there is an error log in the MediaPortal folder .
That error is not related to this patch. Take a look here. It seems to be an issue that a number of people have encountered with TV Series (which I see you are using).

I hope these help , If you want me to try anything else , just let me know .
They do help. No other patches are planned unless one of the other users I have contacted encounters issues. I think that is unlikely, but there is always that chance.

Cfforce has tested the TeVii S660 and you have tested your tuner. That makes two tuners down, two to go (HDHomeRun and Hauppauge Nova-T USB2).
