Thank you for the new logs :)

There doesn't appear to be any problems with that scan. You said that all of the problems went away if you didn't preload the tuner. Can you post a log of what happens when you *do* preload, and when you *don't* preload. My guess is that when you preload, TV Server is attempting to use the USB tuner before its drivers have been loaded. TV Server needs to wait for the drivers to load before it tries to load it.

    - Please post TV Server logs that show preloading.
    - Is there any particular reason why you need to preload?
    - Can you try and delay the start of TV Server. I'm not sure if this will work, but try this:

    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Go to the general tab.
    3. Increase the delay in seconds before TV Server detects cards to 15 seconds.

When I say I have less problems when I don't preload the tv cards , I mean my network connection does't hang when windows boots .

I have included 3 sets of logs ,

"log1.zip" - I set the TV Server delay to 15 seconds , rebooted and selected a channel form my DVB-S card (BBC HD) . This works perfectly . Then I selected a channel (RTE News) from my DVB-T dongle . This caused MediaPortal to freeze , and the only way to exit was with the Windows Task Manager .

I then set the tv cards to preload in the TV Server config and rebooted .The log file for this is "preload.zip"
The results were as follows -

When MediaPortal was loading , it said "Waiting for TV Server) for about 30-50 seconds on screen .

My network connection didn't work , with the windows "waiting: icon , just like the picture in my first post .

When MediaPortal had finished loading , I got a message on screen "Connection to TV Server lost" . I attached the logs from MediaPortal "MediaPortallogs.zip"

An error log also appeared in my TV Server log folder "Error.zip"
I have also attached this .

I hope these logs help .

    Hi again

Thanks for the logs. The error does seem to be related to the graph building. I'll take a look at the code tonight and get back to you.

My problem is that for a short period of time the tv service will be running fine then it just shits itself!. I reinstal the drivers and uninstall reinstal tv server. The DVB-t shows in the list of servers and all channels are present but when entering mediaportal it says connection to the tv server is lost. On occasion the DVB-t is not presevt in the server list which leads me to believe the card is faulty however it seems to work fine at other times and is brand new. Is there something I am missing in the basic setup as this is driving me crazy. Im running 1.1.2 on a fresh install and all other functions are perfect. I love MP and just need tv now!

    Hi again Hamco

I hear you loud and clear. I asked you for logs though. Without logs I can do nothing. I *want* to help you, but if you can't give me logs then I can do nothing. My problem is that your description of the issue is too vague without logs that show me exactly where the issue is.

    Hi again ninja 12

I've had a look at the code but I can't quite identify where things are stalling. Clearly the problem is with graphbuilding for the USB tuner though. I've added some debug and built a custom version of TVLibrary.dll to help my find the issue. Can you please try it:

    1. Turn preloading on for both tuners.
    2. Stop TV Server.
    3. Clear your TV Server logs.
    4. Take a backup of the TVLibrary.dll in your TV Server install folder.
    5. Download and extract the TVLibrary.dll attached to this post into your TV Server install folder.
    6. Start TV Server. We expect there to be trouble but if there isn't, keep testing by tuning channels on both tuners until you have a problem.
    7. Post logs again here.

Hamco: You're welcome to try this too if you're using MediaPortal 1.1.2. Please remember that I'll need logs though...

[Edit: You're not trying to use the USB tuner with any other software at the same time are you?]

    Hi again ,

    I'll try this now .

No ,I'm not trying to use the usb dongle with any other programs at the same time .

If I start Windows Media Centre , it powers up the dongle (the red l.e.d. lights up) . When I exit Windows Media Centre , the l.e.d. goes off .

I've followed your instructions and replaced the .dll and deleted all logs .

When I restarted the TV Service I got an error message on screen .

I added the new log files to "log.zip" . I then deleted all logs .

Shortly after , new logs appeared , see "log2.zip"

I'm about to reboot my system and see what happens , I'll post details shortly .

    Hi again ninja 12

The logs help to clarify where the problem is. I think if you waited long enough after the preloading (maybe 5 minutes or so) tuning would work. Are you able to check that?
