    Hi.
    I've done a restat at 15:05 MEST
Please post your log files so they can be checked. :)
There are no log files as TVServer did not start after reboot... Last entry in Log file is:
    Code:
    [2014-07-11 15:05:09,806] [Log ] [TVService] [INFO ] - TV Service: stopped
but that was just before I do the restart.
TVService is not running until I manually start it. At 15:08 MEST I'll start TVServicew manually and this is the log of this start:

BTW the reboot last less than 20 seconds so TVService should be running again on 15:06

Okay, I confirm what you said... and based on the available information so far this seems to be different to RicoHTPC 's situation. This is not the fault of the TV service. Windows is responsible for starting the service. If Windows doesn't tell TV service to start then TV service won't even try to start, as you can see.

In short I think we need to look at Windows system and application event logs (which are only included when you use the watchdog) and see how long MySQL is taking to start.

Also, are you using a static IP address for this PC?
...and is IPv6 enabled on the NIC/PC and network?
Would I be correct to guess that you upgraded MySQL when you changed from MP 1.6 to 1.8... or if not, when did you do the DB update?

    Hi.

No Update, it was a completely fresh install. Only thing I have reused from 1.6 are my schedules which I imported via "export.xml", But I've also used MySQL 5.6 with MP1.6 before. It's exactly the same version of MySQL (the default downloaded version during MP1 install, "mysql-5.6.10-winx64.msi".
Also, are you using a static IP address for this PC?
    Static IP.

...and is IPv6 enabled on the NIC/PC and network?
    No.

(which are only included when you use the watchdog)
I'm in a hurry now, This I have to delay. Maybe tonight...

If Windows doesn't tell TV service to start
The service was and is set to start automatically. I've tried to change to "Automatic Start - delayed" ("Verzögerter Start" in German) but this did not help. All other services are starting normally. MySQL needs some seconds to start for sure so I thought this is the cause. The rest of my new system is pretty fast and I've used MP1.6 on my old and a lot slower system only. So I'm not completely sure if this is related to 1.8 or to my system simply being too fast for MP ;)

to be able to analyze such kind of problems the only way is to get windows event log , because all operation with services should be written there. So either watchdog, or export windows system event log to any readable format and post it here.

P.S. TVService has dependency on MySQL service, so it won't start until MySQL service reports to OS that it has finished loading. This dependency is set by TV install, and checked/reset every start of TVSetup.

For my install i have set Dependency on Network Connection service for MySQL, because from my PerfTest results it was faster that to let MySQL itself to wait for TCP connection.

    @Vasilich ,

Running on Sever 2012, hence there is no Debug tool to automate the process of collecting events. Which events exactly do you want me to upload? "Windows-Protokolle", "Serverrollen" or something else?

    Huh
We're talking about the MediaPortal watchdog/debug-mode tool, right? That should be able to run on Server 2012...

Whatever you do, please export in text format so I can read the files. XP can't open the new format event logs (evtx???)... ;)

    Alright, here we go:

Cleared Event protocols to Show latest results only, then restarted the Server. TV Server is NOT running, hence no MediaPortal logs .I've uploaded the Event logs for "Anwendungen" and "System", the others are either empy or Show unimportant entries (in the case of "Sicherheit").[DOUBLEPOST=1405094183][/DOUBLEPOST]

I don't doubt that it's able to run. It 's just not installed on a server setup only.
