    Ok, back to square one.
Restored again and before I start installing everything again: how can I check that there are no leftovers from former db's?
I found a folder named "archive db" but no mysql folders or something.
Not that I expect some to find since this should be pretty clean but jsut to make sure...

If your software list is not showing MySQL to be installed nor any MySQL folder, you should theroretically be OK in terms of a fresh grass-root installation.

    You may try the following:

    - Stop MySQL service:
    - Delete ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1
    - Restart the MySQL service - check application event if no InnoDB error is thrown this time. If no error, continue:
    - Uninstall TVServer
    - Reinstall TVServer, using the existing MySQL installation

P.S.: I've had so much trouble with MySQL in the past that I've switched to MSSQL Express (now in the 2012) version. With my new WSE 2012 installation this makes anyway more sense because the WSUS server uses MSSQL and one instance can hold more than one database.

    Hi.
For me there definitely was no Update as I've started with "format c:" ;)

But I'm done with 1.8 forever... Yesterday, only half an hour before the WorldCup Final the TV Server was broken completely.... I was watching Live TV and suddenly,... "No Signal" . Restarted TVServer and Windows several times, no chance to bring it back. "No Signal" or "All cards are busy" was all I got.. Maybe you can imagine how I liked that.

As last chance I've installed MP 1.6 simply over the broken 1.8 installation 10 minutes before the final and voila, all is working as expected. No time to configure the client, no TVSeries, no MovingPictures, no Music,... only thing I've configured was the remote. At least I could see the game and the victory.

Today I've tried 1.8 again as I like the client the better, but no way to get 1.8 TVServer running... No Signal.... Fresh MySQL DB, no chance. Installed 1.6 and all is working. No matter if I was using the "damaged" MySQL DB from 1.8 or generate a fresh one...

So I'm done with recent MP1 versions as the only important thing to me as a MP2 user is the TV Server. And the new one,
to say it nice, seems to be incompatible with my hardware (The words I really want to say are better not written...)

Reminder at myself, need to renew my sys specs, they are outdated atm...

    Ok but what now?
Install MySQL workbench (if you don't have that installed yet) and run the attached query. Maybe that helps.

After having restored my system and tried to reinstall everything I ended up with the same problem.
Now I'm installing the workbench and will see if that does any good...
One funny thing though: What was the reason for switching to mysql5.6? Wait, ehhm stability... ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1405361883][/DOUBLEPOST]Installed the workbench now but obviously I'm too stupid. How do I actually run that querry with that program?

Maybe you can imagine how I liked that.
Sure... but did you imagine how other team members might feel after reading your post? I'll tell you how this team member feels so that you don't have to imagine.

As a TV Server developer I take comments about TV Server personally. I feel like you're directly blaming me for these issues... and worse, you're not giving me any chance to prove otherwise or fix the causes.

When people have to blame something or somebody, sensible people usually ensure the thing or person they want to blame are really at fault before proceeding to blame. So I say to you: where is your evidence that TV Server deserves to be blamed?

Vague descriptions of symptoms and results are not evidence.
Log files, channel names, dates and times are evidence.

I'm sure it's easy for you to point the finger at TV Server given the experience you've had, but every problem you've mentioned so far:
    • live TV just stopping
    • TV service not starting
    • no signal/all cards busy
...Every single one of those experiences has alternative causes/explanations that you've either chosen to ignore or are ignorant of.

When people who should know better don't provide evidence it tells me they aren't being rational. There is no point in trying to reason with a person who has made up their mind already.

...as the only important thing to me as a MP2 user is the TV Server. And the new one,
to say it nice, seems to be incompatible with my hardware (The words I really want to say are better not written...)
If TV Server is really important to you I'd suggest you think about how you interact with the people that work on it. Such posts are enough to make TV Server developers want to tear their hair out and quit. You may as well have said the words because the effect was the same.

I don't find that funny. It's easy to say this if you weren't getting corrupt databases every second week. Nobody is forcing you to switch, so go back to MySQL 5.1 if you want.

I really didn't have problems with Msyql5.1 but that's not the point. Nor is the point that I seem to have problems with Mysql5.6.
The only inportant thing for me is to get my server back running. Most likely I cannot even imagine how much time you put into these things and
didn't mean to offend or blame you for your work.
I will carry on trying and reporting.

    I understand.

How do I actually run that querry with that program?
I'm not convinced it will help, but...

    Start the SQL editor.

    Enter your password (default: MediaPortal):

    upload_2014-7-15_17-26-37.png

Double click "Local instance MySQL56" (assumption: you installed MySQL Workbench on the same PC that the MySQL server is running on).

    upload_2014-7-15_17-28-41.png

Double click the TVE 3 schema (default name is MpTvDb - I have a different name).

Enter the SQL in the "Query 1" part.

Select Query -> Execute All Or Selection.

@mm1352000 thx for the instruction, for now I have restored my system once more and try to install everything from the scratch.
Will try the workbench again if that didn't help as well.
