    Hi MP-User,

Thank you for your fast answer. There iare no error logs but I give you an MP log after trying to
play radio. I don't have any extended logging on.

    Kind regards

Try to disable windows defender as well as windows defender service. on my machines I never run any WIN updates, all disabled.
    All machines have WIN 7 ( Master Win7 32; clients have Win7 64).

    Hi ichessblumen

Nice try, but deactivating Defender didn't change anything.

I get the same error here now ... I installed new Win7 server and Win7 client. First day it worked and the next day it just stopped working. Now I am rolling back updates to see if it did something during the night. We were sitting here watching TV last night and this morning it just did not work, but it had installed some updates during the night. Could be the source of the problems.

Will report back if I get it working. (note, this is the second front end win7 machine this has happened on ... )

I wish you all luck and waiting for your result.

Found some troubles, and basically I have fixed mine :)

Firewalls are all disabled, but what I found was that even if I put only the host name in the TV Server config, when I tried to tune a channel it still used the FQDN. In my case the server is called timeshift7 and the FQDN was timeshift7.barmen.local. In error.log (c:\programdata\team mediaportal\mediaportal\logs\error.log or something close) I found messages that it could not connect to the FQDN url (rdsp?somthing). DNS lookup on my domain was flawed so by restarting my DNS server (ok I know .. not everyone does things with a DC and everything) made it all work again.

So ... it worked for a little while, note I did actually roll back to plain W7 with no patches and it still did not work. But working for some hours ... installed some few codecs and stuf... and it started acting up again. Just working from time to time and not stable ... searched the forum and my blessing became conversion into UNC based connection to the server rather than the streams. How ?? .. Start configuration.exe with /debugoptions, go under TV client and enable the UNC paths. Remember to put in timeshift UNC and Recordings UNC (defaults will almost never be accurate...) and now it just works. Not a single problem since this.

Try it! :D  ... you never know it might work

    Good work,

I trued to do the same but without result. There is one change, I get no video or audio signal found first and then second try connection to server lost.
    What codecs do you use?

I do use the MS codecs, also I installed SAF 5.0. I did however also try with the ffdshow ones and they worked fine for me ..

You should maybe investigate the log files both on the client and the server to find more clues.

corvy: What error did you get exactly, that was fixed by UNC stuff? I guess installing all win updates didn't do any harm, right?
