    Hello,

This plugin is based on the source code for my MCE Replacement Plugin, but is made to run on the TV Server. It has basically all the same features as the MCE Replacement Plugin, except for the ones that make no sense on the TV Server.

For documentation you should refer to the MCE Replacement Plugin and support will be in this sub-forum, because they are roughly 90% common code (off the top of my head). So if you have any feedback, comments, suggestions or bugs then please reply to this post. I'll be keeping this first post up to date with any changes to the test version in the lead-up to releasing the plugin to the download section of the site.

Beware: There is a caveat! You cannot run the MCE Replacement Plugin and the TV3 MCE Blaster Plugin on the same PC at the same time. They both try to access the MCE IR Device at the same time and that just doesn't work. There are work-arounds (ie. Running HIP and getting it to do all the IR input/output) and I'm working on a big-picture solution that will also support sharing the MCE IR Device over a LAN, but it's still some way off being ready for the public...

So, let me know how it goes ...

Oh, and I should mention, I don't use the TV Server yet, so if there are any crazy, "should have been obvious" type bugs then I apologise up-front, and I'll fix them as quickly as I can...

02-Feb-2007: Just a couple of tidy ups and two new macro commands, "Message Command" to send Window Messages to other running programs, and "Keystrokes Command" to simulate keystrokes.

11-Feb-2007: Just compatibility improvements. If all is well and I don't hear of any bugs then I will release it to the download section.

22-Feb-2007: Now includes a new MceIr.dll with a "None" setting for blaster speed. This should improve compatibility and get everyone's STB working now (ambitious, no?)

11-Mar-2007: Recompiled to support latest SVNs. with minor bug fixes.

    Cheers,

    Hi Aaron!

I'm getting this error-message when trying to configure the plugin in SetupTV:

    Failed to locate assembly 'Gentle.Framework, Version=1.2.9.18134, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null".
Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.

    SetupTV then terminates.

This happens with the SVN's after 20th January.

I'm getting the same error with Serverblaster.

oh, ok, could be that something changed after 20th January. I'll download a newer TV3 version and compile against that ...

I'll get back to you soon.

    Thanks,

ok, I've downloaded the latest tv3 (tvengine3-01-25-2007--01-16h--Rev12736) and compiled against that. Although no code had to be changed it looks like a couple of the dll's that were being referenced had been updated.

See if the new version (attached to the first post in this thread) works and let me know.

    Thanks,

    Hi.

Sorry to report the plugin doesn't work with latest SVN. Serverblaster doesn't work either, but Serverblaster works with SVN from 20th. Unfortunately I have lost Your first test-version, so I cannot test that against SVN from 20th.

Config is OK. Even test-blasting, but will not change channel on STB from client or 'manual control'. No blasting.

Can you see anything in the log files?

It's Australia Day today, which is a national holiday and a good reason for a BBQ, so I won't be able to do anything today (and for a few hours tomorrow morning ;))

But I'll look into it as soon as I can. I've got an hour or so now actually, so I'll try to figure it out myself ... see what happens.

    Thanks,

    tesamu:

I'll try to figure it out myself over the next couple of days. I'll post a new test version when I have something.

    frodo:

No worries. The reason I haven't included sources at the moment is to keep down the size of the test versions. I fully intend to post sources with the final version, which I will post to the download section when it is ready. If you'd like to include it with TV3 installs I'd be happy to have that happen. But I'll try to figure out tesamu's problem first.

I'll let you know when it's ready and we can take it from there.

    Cheers,
