i have the same problem. i running a hauppauge hvr4000 card in vista x86 business. i only get the error, when i scan astra 19,2° . hotbird works fine.

here are my log files:

And what version database?
Try to remove a database and anew to setup TVE3.

Also collect please Log by means of MPTestTool. It is in menu Start-> Program-> MediaPortal-> MPTestTool.

Here or not that version database, or is not present that that of Requirements.

i tested a few builds of the tv server. i found only one build which work for me. it's the 17195. why doesn't it work with newer versions?

Does the search with another DVB program? Is your satellite system with everything okay?

You can try times on TV Sever setup, "Linkage scanner" to disable and Disq at Level A / A to enable.

How it works for me.

Thanks everybody for the work on this.

cybernn i'm running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. The thing is that i have installed and reinstall Mediaportal from the start many times even changed OS from Vista to XP just because of this. The same problem was on Vista as well.

I have also tested with DVBViewer and it works just fine with that, no problem what so ever to scan channels.

And one other thing it is unpredictable on how far i will be able to scan for channels, it can stop after 36 transponders or it can go as far as 103 of 106 before it crashes.

I will run the Mediaportal tool this evening.

I had the same problem during the installation.
But scanning each LNB seperatly was a working workaround.

The thing is that i have only one LNB and trying to scan one satellite!
