    Hi guys,

I installed 1.4 and during the setup, I got an error of an application error but everything seemed ok.
After a reboot, it took quite some time for MP to start and I noticed that the tvservice didn't start.
When I try start the service I get this error:
"Windows could not start the TVService service on Local Computer.
Error 1063: The processor terminated unexpectedly"
I cannot enter the TV server configiruation panel but I guess this is because of the service not running.

Because no similar error had been reported, I don't know if this is related to a bug so that's why I post this here.
In case of wrong place, can a mod please move it?

I also have my server log file, in case more is needed I will provide it later today.

    TIA
    Peter

You could try re-installing TVServer part, seems like you are missing some libraries for some reason.

    Not sure but:

    1. Un-install from Start -> Team MediaPortal -> MediaPortal TV-Server -> uninstall
    2. Install from C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\MediaPortal Installation\deploy using package-tvengine.exe

I only have MediaPortal.DeployTool.exe in that directory.
    Is that the one?

My mistake, found it and the server part seems to be ok - service is running and can enter the configuration utility.
But have a new problem now...
I cannot enter the general configuration tool - not the the server - and receive an error:

    Failed to locate assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.11.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=669e0ddf0bb1aa2a'
Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.

This could also be the Problem of an outdated Skin. Which Skin are you using? In my case it was the streamedmp. After updating everything went fine.

I ran 'package-mediaportal.exe' and now it seems I don't have the tv client anymore.
MP is starting, but the tv/epg option is not available anymore.
When I run the MP configuration, I also cannot connect to the tv server and I get this error:

Failed to locate assembly 'TvBusinessLayer, Version=1.1.6.27652, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null.

Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.
During install, the 'MediaPortal core files (required)' are the only components available and additionally, I can select the backup options.

    I'm using the Default skin.
