Two timeshifting session (1 Viewer)

Hi, my question is quite simple. Can/does the TV server support two timeshifting sessions on two different transponders (say the second is used for recording purposes)?

Because I have two DVB-T tuners which work perfectly when they are seperated but when they're called to work at the same time (at two dif transponders) my whole system hangs. My results are the same across the board (I've tried it to at least 3-4 different systems with MP).

It seems that TV server is incapable of recording at 2 different transponders, right? (No matter what)

    Hi :)

Two tuners should be able to handle 2 transponders without problem.

I suggest you attach full logs when it happens again. If you need to restart your PC after the "hang", you can still use the watchdog tool to zip up the logs after the restart.

    Hi Steven81

rekenaar is right - TV Server can do it. In fact I explained how TV Server handles this to you personally at length -->here<--. At the risk of being a grouch, I also asked you to read the support forum rules at the time - it seems you've ignored them again. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating that is! *Please* - post your system specifications (rather than deleting the template - *it is there for a reason*), post your logs (use the watchdog - it really couldn't be easier), and read the support forum rules so that you know what is required for next time.

    Cheers,

    :)

PS: once again, sorry to be such a grouch. I'm only trying to help you, and it is difficult to help when I don't have all the information available to me (and time consuming to have to ask for the information when people don't follow protocol).

Oh, sorry I had totally forgot that. Since then I have moved and I generally I'm using different systems than then. I literally completely forgot of that ... sorry.

Also it's hard/impossible to post logs since the wife and kids use the TV (in one way or another) for most of the time. All I get are little windows of time to try new things and I'm constantly under pressure. I do have read the support forums, but they're not any help. It was supposed to work, but it doesn't for some arcane reason and bug collecting is really hard due to the above circumstances...sorry.

Edit2: Well, apparently the log says that (even though I have it mapped to another card) that I attempt to play the second transponder on the same card that was already playing the channel from the 1st transponder. That's not true, I have clearly mapped the two transponders to the two dif cards, I cannot see why the TV-server tries to use the 1st card even for the 2nd transponder, it makes no sense to me...

Can't you tell me from what I have given you yet, or not?
    No, sorry I can't.

Since I'm going to be away from that PC for quite some time, in the meanwhile, can I have an answer to the following?

If I want to prioritize one of the two of my cards (i.e. have the same transponders mapped at both card yet have only the 1st card to play the stream on my TV and have the second as a backup, if/when it's to be needed), how can I go about in doing it?

In other words can I make one of the cards "primary" and have the other as "secondary"?

You can find the answer to that question and much more in our wiki. For that question, read the "priority" section on -->this<-- page. If you have more questions like this then chances are that a quick wiki search will give you the answers you want.

Again, I have/had tried this, but to no avail (that's why I'm asking whether I should do something more than that).
Anyhow, w/t logs there's not much support that I can get I'd guess...
