Unable to connect to Server/DB (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the reply.

I have 1 bult in lan adapter that I do not use, Atheos L1 (on a Asus motherboard)
I have 1 wireless adapter that I use to connect to the internet (Belkin N1 wireless desktop card)


I tried your suggestion with the Loopback adapter and nothing changed.
It was suggested to be to try MySQL instead, and when I do that It tells me that some ports are closed.

The wierd thing is that it just one day happend.
Its working on the remote connection, so we could rule out DB/Tv Service?
Its something between the local client and the TV service.

I am 100% sure the Windows Firewall is set to OFF.

I have a belkin n1 router, but why should that suddenly start to block my local connection?

I don't want to cheer to early, but I think I found the problem.

I uninstalled nod32, and then MP and I could suddenly connect to the TV server.
Maybe something someone should look into though? - Since I was using NOD32 in many months before it started to cause these problems.

If Nod32 or any other antivirus\antispyware software blocks a program, then it should be in it's logs and needs to be sent to the relevant AV or AS manufacturer so they know about it and can fix.

Same issue here guys. Installed Nod32 yesterday and nthen by the evening everything went pear shaped and MP couldnt talk to Tv Server anymore.

Will check the logs and see what can be sent to them to resolve issuse.

Have you got a network adapter enabled, but not being used, the connection is just being refused.

The only other thing i can think of is network not starting quickly enough, maybe install the MS Loopback Device and see if that helps.

Installing Microsoft Loopback Adapter

* Go to the Add Hardware control panel
* Click Next on the first wizard screen
* When asked if the hardware is connected, select Yes and click Next
* In the list of installed hardware, scroll to the bottom and select Add a new hardware device and click Next
* Choose the option titled Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) and click Next
* In the list of common hardware types, select Network adapters and click Next
* In the list of manufacturers, select Microsoft. Then in the list of network adapters, select Microsoft Loopback Adapter and click Next
* Click Next one more time to install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter and then press Finish

In Device Manager go to Network Adapters\MS Loopback Adapter, select properties and under Advanced\Network Address put 127.0.0.1

See if that helps.

Hey Paranoid Delusion, this is a nice workaround. I have the LoobBackAdapter installed, too.
But how can I use a client connect in that configuration?
The Stream is on rtsp://127.0.0.1/Stream1.0, how can i connect?

Go to MP config\TV\TV client and enter 127.0.0.1 as hostname, this will ensure all is kept to a single pc, or use localhost as name, it's the same.

Did any of you guys ever solve the problem with Nod32? I am having the same issue on a single seat TVServer in MP 1.0.2. I tried disabling Nod32 (not uninstalling), but that did not help. I didn't want to get rid of Nod32 so I just added my computer name to the Hosts file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost <your host name>

BTW Ray, I tried putting localhost in MP\TV\TV Client hostname and that didn't work. It should have!
