Thank you, I have attached my system logs.

Note that this from 1.0 RC2.
I think that you have a bigger chance of getting qualified ppl (devs, testers, knowledgeable forum users etc.) to check you logs when they are from a 1.0.2 installation.

Brain hiccup, I read I read 1.0 RC2 as being the same as 1.0.2 :) I'll get on that and see what I turn up!

Though it might be worth noting that the log generator thought MP was closed before I even killed the process... I can't even get into the config settings part as that is where it hangs.

    Same problem here.

I have tested and sorted all out on my laptop to get a good working HTPC. When I finnally bought the new hardware and did a fresh installation of XP and Mediaportal it doesn't even start on that computer. The splash screen and then nothing.

Very frustrating. I really love Mediaportal but can't use it. I have done a SP3 installation on top of the other but to no avail.
Please there must be some sollution to this?

I must say this is really a large problem. I have exact the same problem as rhouck.

There is also no mening in attaching a logfile because they are unreadable. Winzip gives this alarm.
"Warning: skipping "Configuration.log". The compressed size stored in the local header for this file is not the same as the compressed size stored in the central header"

What is going on here ?

    Hmmm...
Seems like "certain", "streamlined", "stripped", "enhanced", "oneclick install" sollution of the Famous XP is not all together good .

I Took the long run with an old "mylicense" XP and did all the upgrades. Even though I downloaded SP 3 as an image to burn on a CD it's a PITA to upgrade all to an up to date XP. One hole day of free time ....

    Anyway, now Mediaportal works again.
I havent checked the "non readable" Log zip's (another thread of mine) but hopefully they also work now.
I'm sorry if I took much of your sparetime on this issue. :sorry:
