I agree it does feel like a "block" issue. Firewalls commonly allow the RTSP TCP traffic (via port 554) but block the UDP video/audio streaming traffic. I guess mike1 could run up wireshark and compare MP and VLC just to confirm the stream is making it to the PC, but that won't tell him if/why the stream is blocked.

    I did some WireShark capturing.
First Picture Shows just MP trying to stream LiveTV.
The second adds VLC as Streaming Client. MP does nothing, VLC plays TV.
I hope somebody is able to see something ;-)

The MP capture looks generally alright to me. You can see the MPEG TS packets (that is the streaming data) is getting to the client. The destination port is zero. That is kinda interesting. Not sure if it is normal as I don't have 2 PCs to be able to test with. Unfortunately wireshark didn't pick up the traffic when I tried the single-seat RTSP mode debug option to compare.

You've tested with all firewalls (including the Windows firewall) completely disabled, right? ...and still no good with that? Default firewall configuration is almost certainly not going to work with RTSP. MP needs permission to bind to anonymous ports and receive both TCP and UDP traffic. I can only keep coming back to the fact that this looks and smells like a firewall problem...

    Yes, both firewalls disabled.
I will try to configure a different client pc to test this evening...

I think i found it. I had installed a vpn driver for remote Access to my Fritz box router ("Fritz remote-Zugang) - after deinstallation MP works:)
Strange that it had no effect to the VLC Player...

Those Fritz VPN Drivers are from Hell. In my Case they extremly slowing down the Network Speed. Have to disable them if they are not needed.
