Hi Seb,

The update from 1.5 pre_release (MySQL 5.1) to 1.5.0 Final (MySQL 5.6) did not work.
After uninstalling mediaportal and MySQL 5.1, I could install mediaportal 1.5.0 final with MySQL 5.6.
What should I test now, to get this update in mediaportal 1.6

    1. Tried update 1.5 Pre with MySQL 5.1. No luck - just upgraded to 1.5 final, no touch to MySQL.
    2. Then uninstalled MySQL 5.1 and tried to upgrade - also nothing.
    3. Then uninstalled MySQL 5.1 and MP (not full, just application) and made upgrade (exactly - upgrade, MP with left config and user files is making upgrade) - no luck.
    4. Then Uninstalled MySQL 5.1. uninstalled fully MP programs, rebooted and made fresh install - then all gone well.

All was done on non-production machine, so not good to try on HTPC.
May be there could be easier way to make some upgrade script for upgrade MySQL 5.6 only? For those that want to make upgrade for current installations.

Looks like my concerns about upgrade scenarios are justified. @Sebastiii :)

I need to test again but not sure if i want to look into it (i remember was not easy to implement)
But the installer should detect if 5.1 is present from registry and folder, then perform a backup of db / perfrom an uninstall of 5.1 (but not data) / install 5.6 / restore db.

It should be done as upgrade and clean installation :)

But now we can reinstall 1.5.0 over 1.5.0 (maybe rules has changed) need to debug that but like i said was busy for personal life etc. and want to spend time with family and watching movies and series lol

I can confirm that upgrade to 1.5.0 Final from 1.5.0 Pre release didn't work, i'm pretty sure it was trigger by the new 'Reinstall option' like MySQL 5.6 branch was lot older and now surely need few change to adapt that :)
