I am having a "problem" and want to know if it is wrong configuration or maybe my router that is the problem.

Problem: Very slow download speed of movies from WebMediaPortal fom WAN side max 450kb/s and I have 40/40Mbit line and HTPC connected to one of the routers 100Mbit ports with NOT WIFI :). Also the pc´s I have tried on the WAN side have high download speed so the internet connection speed itself is not the bottleneck. Anyone else having same problem if they try?
Download performance is a known problem with WebMP. It's already on the list for 0.6.[/quote]

Nice to know that it is not only my systems problem :).

Anyone knows how I could test max download speed started from WAN site of a file from my HTPC. Some kind of small FTP transfer or something else that can max test the file transfer?[DOUBLEPOST=1354790867][/DOUBLEPOST]Nice to know that I am not the only one this problem.

Could I somehow test the max download speed from my HTPC started from WAN side? A free FTP server or something that for sure can max out the upload speed from my HTPC?

Ah, any chance you used to have a MP-TVSeries database still around before installing the plugin? It looks like MPExtended detects an available database, but it's too old to make any sense of it. I'll fix the 500 error on the homepage in 0.5.2, it should just leave out the TV shows section instead.

Yes. It could be that, because I remember to have had to install TV series to test an old StreamedMP skin version... Maybe after uninstalling it, the database remained somehow...

    Thanks a lot.

I like to see a few features in the next release:
    1. Make Type for search results public
    2. List all music option via argument (+per Artist/Albumartist)
    3. Give image for non existing images or soon response, now waiting time is too long and page loading will be slow. That is the reason I left out the artist images at the music view in my skin
    4. Episodename availability for the TV Guide

    Actually, WebMP already provides placeholders when it can't load a file. The default images are located in Skins/<active skin>/Content/Images/default, or if it can't be found there, in Content/Images/default. The filenames are tvshow-fanart.png, tvshow-poster.png, tvshow-banner.png, tvseason-banner.png, tvepisode-banner.png, logo.png, recording.png, album.png, artist.png, track.png, movie-cover.png and movie-fanart.png.

Yeah, I know, but why does it take sooo long to load them? Could you look at that?

I think what dragy is saying is play all songs under a certain artist or album. Correct me if I am wrong.
Yes, this is what I mean. Now it's only possible (as far as I know) to make a playlist of music for one album. I like to be able to make a playlist of every song.

That's because we query the database for each item (maybe even twice). I know that isn't ideal, but it's quite hard to solve with our current design. It should cache the covers after the first load though.

Ah, that makes sense. The whole album / aritst thing needs some love for 0.6 anyway, so I'll add this to too then.

Well, there is no problem with loading covers WHEN THEY EXIST, but only when they don't. It takes about 1 second to load a cover that doesn't exists and about 30ms to load one that does. You are right about the caching, that works.
