Well, there is no problem with loading covers WHEN THEY EXIST, but only when they don't. It takes about 1 second to load a cover that doesn't exists and about 30ms to load one that does. You are right about the caching, that works.
I'ms orry, but I can't reproduce this. Loading images that exist takes about 50ms on my system, and images that don't exist about 60ms. That difference isn't significant enough to be noticable.

Okay thanks anyway for looking at it :)

Right now I have another problem. I will make a topic about it.
Nevermind, my videos was set as movie database. Solved :)

    Hi
I am just trying to install this for the first time. I need to change the port, however. I have tried changing the config file but it is in use by another program. I stopped the MP Extended and WebMP services. I guess i need to stop an IIS service too? Which one? It isn't immediately obvious to me.

For those looking for a free port try this:
    Start >> run >> CMD
    type
    Code:
    netstat -ano |find /i "listening"
and press return that will give you a list of ports, the last number on each line will be the PID allocated to the process using that port
Shift+Ctrl+Esc >> Processes tab then View >> Select Columns >> tick the PID column
Simply find the PID to identify the process
    :)

Windows Firewall settings problem after update from 0.5.0 to 0.5.1

    Hi Chaps,

I updated my father's HTPC from 0.5.0 to 0.5.1 yesterday. He has the WebMediaPortal port set to 8081 because it conflicted with another bit of software on his PC. All was working fine with 0.5.0, but when the update was run, the WebMediaPortal port setting remained at 8081, but the windows firewall exception was re-configured back to 8080, thus stopping WebMediaPortal from working on any PC other than the server.

Has anyone else had this problem?

The installer might reset the firewall exception indeed. It's probably easier to create a new firewall exception instead of changing the default one, as the installer won't touch your own exception.

    Hi,

I just installed MPExtended and WebMediaPortal on my HTPC because I wanna access it from my iPad. I've followed the install guide to the letter, but I think there's a conflict. I'm using uTorrent WebUI on port 8080, so I guess I'd have to enter the firewall settings and change the port there?

    Cheers

Either that, or change the port WebMediaPortal uses (WebMediaPortal tab in the MPExtended configuration).

WebMediaPortal's working now (I had to change the port in the configuration tab AND in my firewall), but the MPExtended service stopped and couldn't be turned back on until I had rebooted my HPTC as I was trying to play a video on my iPad. Trying to play a video again results in another crash. In What's the recommended player to use in an iPad, and will Safari give the best results or is Chrome or something else better? Or do I have to download a playlist file even?

    Playing music seem to work.
