I was unable to get MediaPortal and my GD-01MX working correctly no matter what I tried (lots of different versions of the DLLs etc). Yesterday I downloaded the latest Beta Imon and Imedian from Soundgraph and Media Portal RC3.

Installed both over the top of what I already had
-copied the SG_VFD.dll from the new Soundgraph install into the Mediaportal folder
-disabled Frontview from running
-Set External display plugin to use SoundGraph Intergated Imon VFD\LCD driver; Port to USB; Advanced -> Type to LCD rather than auto and it all just worked!

Very pleased now!

Try this hammer to crack a nut approach if you are having issues as I had just about given up

:D .

Hi Cybrmage,

Since my previous post about top bar displaying volume, I found another situation that makes MP to crash due to iMon driver. If I configure MP to start with windows, it crashes every time (even if I had a start delay). Here is the log file :
2007-10-28 09:21:59.357975 [ERROR][UpdateIconThread]: MediaPortal: Unhandled exception occured

Like in my previous post, it seems to be linked with volume monitor. But in this case I didn't checked the option to display the volume on top bar !

I hope it will help you to find a fix.
Thanks by advance.

    Hi all
I have an Antec Fusion Black.
I have had the same problem mentioned somewhere here since RC3.
With RC2 and SVN 16086 LCD was fine but since RC3 to get LCD working I have had to copy SG_VFD.dll (5.1.0.1201) from the C:\Program Files\SOUNDGRAPH\iMON folder over the SG_VFD.dll in the C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder and everything is fine.
Not sure what dll changes there have been but I hope this information helps someone out.

    Cybrmage,

did you get time to test my idea on using a different entry for the SetText for VFD ?
I'm on VFD and it works without touching the DLL, the same for iSP that is on LCD...

Hi folks Newbie to MP here. I've recently purchased an Antec Fusion Black chassi. And some other stuff. As I can see there is a solution to use the LCD in MP but i cant figure it out how to do.

    What i understand must i:
    1 install Imon
    2. patch it with someting (the app says H/W fail, you have to use Antec VFD app)
--- is this the driver? SG_VFD.dll or LCDsmartie ???
    3. install proccesplugin.dll
    4. up and running

    something like this?
