installation problem

Hi there,

with the newest verdion of this driver, i can't even install it anymore. when i try to configure it for the first time in MP configuration and i hit the test display button, mp configuration dies and is closed. If i don't test it, and just configure it, the display doesn't show anything.

I tried it with the original SG_VF.dll in the mp folder and with the one from soundgraph.

the last version i have (i haven't dowloaded them all) that works for me is: 02_23_2008b

I included the logs, let me know if you need anything else.

thank you for the help!

when i try to configure it for the first time in MP configuration and i hit the test display button, mp configuration dies and is closed.

I can't duplicate this. I tried a clean install of SVN18051 ( a little newer than the one you are using, but should be similar)... everything works as it should for me.

If i don't test it, and just configure it, the display doesn't show anything.

The mediaportal.log shows that the cybrdisplay.xml file was not created... so the plugin doesn't start.
When you configured the plugin (without doing the test) did you click on "ok" to save the configuration??

What are the details of your install??

yes I did try to hit ok and then just leave the configuration. This does create cybrdisplay.xml as well as cybrdisplay_imonlcdg. however those files are created in a seperate folder programdata/teammediaportal/mediaportal, i guess that's a Vista thing. When i copy both files into my mediaportal folder (where the program files are etc.) then i have the same effect while startup as i have when trying the test button in configuration: mediaportal dies. i attached the latest logs, that was the last time i tired to start mediaportal.

as to my installation: I run Mediaportal SVN 17930 as well as TVE3 17930 on a Vista 32 system. my imon software is 6.1. the rest of my profile is up to date.

again, thanks for looking into that - once i get the the displaydriver theat show context menues to run, my installation is almost perfect.

This is normal with Vista

I run Mediaportal SVN 17930 as well as TVE3 17930 on a Vista 32 system.

I actually missed the fact that you are running Vista....

And your latest logs (THNAK YOU!!) show that the core is throwing an exception when trying to retreive the system volume level.... (this doesn't happen under XP)

I have made some changes to fix both issues... available in the usual place...

Display gets "stuck"

Cybrmage,

Not sure if this is classified as a bug, but it thought I ask to see if it could be fixed. Basically when I use the “HD_starter” plug-in, which can be found here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/plugins-47/blu-ray-hd-dvd-player-powerdvd-working-solution-32268/, the display stops updating when I return to Mediaportal. It will be “stuck” on what is was showing at the time I started to play a movie in PowerDVD Ultra. If I just go to PowerDVD and then back it will work, but the display will get “stuck” as soon as I hit play in PowerDVD.

To get the display to “update” again I must exit Mediaportal and then start it up again. I have tried to modify the script so that mediaportal just looses focus and run PowerDVD is on top, it still get ‘stuck’ updating as soon as you hit play.

There is no difference if iMon manager is running or not, I get the same behaviour regardless.

Display Info: iMon manager ver 6.20.0830 (Silverstone)
iMon Firmware ver 0x3801
LCD OEM HID

Plug-in settings:

Type: SoundGraph iMon USB VFD/LCD Plugin V03_26_2008 also tried earlier versions.
Advanced Settings:
Display type: Autodetect
Option choosen: Delay driver initialization

I have attached the log files, but please let me know if you want more info or need some testing done.

Thanks,
Drudixx

Hey ppl

I just found the CybrDisplay External Status Plugin (which is partly based on this plugin= which finally allows MediaPortal to "control" my iMon LCD display and I really love it, great work.

But I've got a problem with my iMon Remote since I've installed this plugin:
The Plugin seems to kill the iMon Manager (I don't really mind it ^^) to be able to control the LCD.
But now I can't use the functions like "App Launcher" or "Task Switcher" anymore because they are part of the iMon Manager Software. Furthermore I can't switch between Mouse-/Keyboard-Mode and I'm stuck in the Mouse-Mode which really sucks in MediaPortal when I'm browsing through my music folders or something like that. The keyboard-mode would be much easier for certain actions.
But that's not all: I can't even use the Play, Pause, Stop, Rewind, Forward buttons and so on. This way there's no possibility to control my media stuff after I started it. The special buttons controlled by the MyKeys plugin for MediaPortal doesn't work either.

Did I make any mistake while installing it or is this the normal behavior?
Thanks for your help!

I have the same problems... the imon driver of soundgraph is realy bull....
Using the keyboard mode is inpossible if frontview is disabled in imon software.

i'll buy a seperate ir sensor build that into the original panel, and use my
harmony to controll the mediacenter...

When i start MP with the plugin I see in the logs:

Does this mean that the FW of my display isnt in some kind of list? Or is it just not supported?

Its a zalman HD160XT+ on Windows XP with iMon 6.11.0601

It means that you DO NOT have an iMon VFD or iMON LCD display.... your can has an iMon Inside remote receiver and a 7" touchscreen... NOT SUPPORTED by this plugin
