It was 1.0. Am having standby/resume problems now. I don't think I can win no matter what I do!
Doh! Did you say this was a clean install with the NVidia? If not did you do a driver cleaner/sweeper/CCleaner in safe mode to clear out all the ATi stuff?

I upgraded to F7 bios at the same time as installing MP 1.0.0.0 and PDVD8 Latest build, one of those fixes the endlesss stuttering video loop glitch in xp.

    Windows XP SP3 + all updates, .Net 3.5 sp1 and .net 2.0 sp2.
    MP 1.0.1 Final. Catalyst 9.4.
    Hardware:
mobo: MA78GPM-DS2H (this is the only Gigabyte 780G with 128mb GDDR3). Also have 512mb shared.
MEM: 2x2GB DDR800 CL4 (had to set the timings manually in BIOS since it recognized it as CL5)
    CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5050e (2.6GHz, 65Watt, no HT3.0)
Unfortunately I am forced to use the EASYTUNE software to make sure the CPUFan is running at it's minimum unless temp goes above 38 Celsius. Don't know why Gigabyte doesn't have this option in BIOS (Like Asus).

    Is anyone using Catalyst 9.4?

I've had A LOT of problems, but they didn't had much to do with MP.
For instance, the 780G HDMI port simply does not work with all LCD TVs. Some Sony, Sharp and Toshiba models (wich I have) you'll get 800x600 max. Anything above will result in black screen (no not blue). Also, you only get image after Windows drivers loaded. So forget BIOS, need an pc monitor for that.
Tried it also with a 780G Asus mobo, exact same issue although i did see the BIOS!

With MP I only had DXVA with 8.12 driver. But I did completely clean install of Windows after removing the Asus mobo again. Then installed 9.4 and MP 1.0.1. Everything seems to work fine.

I can even Hibernate from MP 1.0.1 and resume without bsod (used to have this issue with MP1.0 and catalyst 8.12).

    So 780G + Catalyst 9.4 + MP1.0.1 is working flawlessly.
Only the HDMI port isn't working for me. I'm using VGA cable (1360x768, I could simply choose this resolution from Windows and CCC). BTW All 720P tvs have 1366x768 resolution. So you should never choose 1280x720.

    Sorry,

only a small hint to the AMD 690//780G user thread, sorry if t s already known.

You don't need PowerDVD Ultra or any other Cyberlink drivers for HDTV ...
ATI/AMD ist distributing an AVIVO suite (was offered for transcoding), it is very hard to find on the AMD homepage, but it works.
It offers a Mpeg2 and a H.264 decoder, which can be used for MP.
Just disable De-Interlacing in Mediaportal f possible - the AMD vector adaptive deinterlacer does the job in hardware.
I was using 1920 or 720/50p with my TV, Aero enabled.

At the moment, my setup is broken, since I installed updates for a Media Center Extender (Linksys 2200) :-((((.

    Hi!

    Using Gigabyte GA.MA78G.DS3H.

Very nice: Bios-Setup is over HDMI possible (what I missed with MSI). Singe Monitor - only TV.
HDMI synchronizes up to 1920 x 1080i /1080 50Jp/ 1080 60p/ 1080 24p. Tested with LG 40LG5000 (which does funny over and underrscan) and a short cable. If it does not work: try a HDMI 1.3 certified cable and do not blame the MoBo.
    I returned the TV :)
Normally I use a Sony 3LCD-Rear Projection 1280x720p NATIVE (!!). Perfect for upcoming german HDTV (European broadcasting union (EBU) recommendes 720p, not 1080i).
Therefore : Choose 720p, if you have a rear-pro or beamer with this resolution.
( I am seeking again for a 42" LCD with an improved color compared to the 3y old rear-pro.)

    Best Regards
    Uwe

The AMD AVIVO Codecs are in the files with "xcode" in the name,
    like "9-4_vista32_xcode.exe"

Just install and be surprised -- H.264 without illegal software --- AMD is paying royalties for the MPEG patents already with the hardware. It is only the driver for the hardware.

AMD (ATi) AVIVO Video Converter Engine 9.4

I tried xcode for XP (SP3) on h264 with LiveTV, but no go, video is jumping back, with lot's of distorsions. When using pdvd8 I get choppy/stuttering picture.
    Who has h264 working for 780G (LiveTV) ? (MP1.0.1)
