Was the stuttering happening when you type? There is a glitch in the early Gigabyte 780G boards that causes interference from the keyboard signal unless USB Keyboard support is enabled in BIOS.

Nope. Stuttering was there when just sitting watching. I don't think my signal strength/quality is great but so far the Nvidia seems to keep playing whereas the HD3200 would loop badly. This seems to follow experience in NZ.

Did you ever try different builds of PDVD8 or PDVD7.3?

I've been round the houses with PowerDVD, Catalyst versions from 8.6 to 8.12. It all looks good until it appears to hit a defect in the signal or recording and instead of showing the odd block on screen and carrying on, the video loops the last second whilst the sound carries on.

Could you possibly upload a recording that you know had problems to zshare or rapidshare?

I could probably upload almost any recording, but I think it would be better to revert to the integrated HD3200 to test some recordings. Please don't hold your breath as it could take a while. I should have kept a "bad recording" to compare nVidia vs ATi.

I used to have the same problem under XP when viewing interlaced tv. I havn't encountered the issue anymore after a fresh install and all the latest drivers/builds.

This is what i am currently using
    XP SP3 (Fresh install)
    ATI 8.12
    MP 1.0.0.0
    PDVD8 Ultra (Build 2217aU)

Mostly getting around 46-50fps on TV3 (1080i DVB-T H264) with only 5% dropped frames and very very lower jitter (maybe 2-5)

Yes, I wasn't able to get acceleration previously and I can now with PDVD 7.3, however I am not sure whether it was MP 1.0 that fixed the problem or 8.12 Catalyst as I installed both at the same time.

Please don't uninstall just to prove my theory- you would probably have to do tonnes of driver cleaning etc. to swap over the gfx- if you have a working setup you may as well leave it as is.:)

Fingers-crossed I do, although I was a little worried having got a few BSOD with the new install and using the nVidia. I've subsequently removed AVG 8 (free version) and all appears to be well. I was not getting crashes with my previous XP install/no nVidia and AVG 8, but it makes me think that this may have been causing some of my problems.

I did try a clean install, 8.12 drivers and PowerDVD 7 but not PDVD 8. If I ever find myself at a loose end with no wife and kids around, I might ghost the current setup, restore a clean image I have and try the HD3200 again.

Interestingly if you turn off h.a. in the MP-PDVD settings you find you don't get stuck in the endless loop. (However endless loops don't occur with my latest install which is good.)

When you tried 8.12 and PDVD 7 was that with MP 1.0? I forgot to say I've also upgraded to F7 BIOS so that might make a difference.
