User Fanart (1 Viewer)

I know a good way to distribute the fan art. We use torrents. Then people can select which ones they want to download in their torrent client or just download everything.

Maybe a new torrent every other week or every month. I could easily put it together. All we need is a tracker, or use a public guess it wouldn't really matter?

Then bandwidth wouldn't be a problem either I'm sure some people will help out with seeding. I know I'd be seeding 24/7 on my 8Mbps line.

Ok so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try out my idea so I made a torrent.
If there's an interest I'll keep doing this. (In a new thread maybe?)

- First I fixed all the names on the original pack. Same naming convention is very nice. Yes I'm a perfectionist.
- Then I got all the fanart from this thread until ltfearme's post. (not ugly betty one)
- Then did the same with the names. But some names overlapped with some others so I renamed the newest modified date (Ex. 1,(1),2,(2): (1)->3, (2)->4 = 1,2,3,4).

OK, so if this will be ok I thought there needed to be some rules to avoid problems, so it goes like this:
1a. Use the name format: <ID>_<dark/light>_<*Series name>_<ArtNumber>
1b. If your ArtNumber overlaps with a previous one it will be changed.
1c. Bad name formated files will not be included.
2a. If you want to update your previous picture write a "u" in front of the ID.
2b. Then it will replace the original image in the pack.

* Main series names should not be shortened/removed. Ex. "DS9" is wrong, Star Trek DS9 would be ok.

How to download?

Advantages:
- You don't have to download the 100MB+ every time, only the ones that you are missing/are changed will be downloaded. Of course you will have to download to your thumbs/Fan Art/ directory otherwise it wont know which files you're missing/updated. Click here for more info.
- You can easily choose which fanart you want to download.
- 4 different free public trackers for redundancy.
- Possibility for anyone to make updates since all you need is a torrent client.

Well Inker, it seems to me that you're one hell of a firestarter!
It's amazing to see so many people with different skills putting it all together and give us THIS!

As soon as i figured the inner architecture and workings of the MP code out a little bit further, i will try to add my programming skills to this project in my spare time (hopefully there will be any)...

Well until I make the next one.

Think I kind of screwed up with this first one, piece size was way too big. Gonna fix it in the next one so speeds will be way higher.

I'll make a new one when there's some more images to add, currently there are 9 new. I'll maybe make a pack with 4/3 fan art too if there ever will be some more.

Fanart looks great, but when enabling fan art pushes the text info about the episodes so far down.. would really like to se the text "over" the fanart as usual, or?

Maybe use the same background color on both pictures so you don't see the edges.

Then maybe add some light fades.. look at the attachment.
