No, you don't need any layers. PNG's do not have layers, its just a flat image, really. Layers only help to create the image, however the final image does not have any layers at all.

Actually a PNG file can have layers too just like PSD files.

Really? I've never heard that before. Care to provide a link with a sample or something?

Thats interesting. Question is, in what application can you edit / make a multi layered PNG? For multi layers paint.net is free and does the job... bit of a bitch to work with, but then so is photoshop if you arent used to using it! lol

Well adobe fireworks does use multilayered PNG's. That's what I use since I did a lot of designing a few years ago and now I'm used to it. :p Anyway photo plugins work just fine with it. :)
I'm sure it's not that hard to find a video tutorial for photoshop (Maybe even paint.net) which goes through the basics and buttons and such.

I use Fireworks which natively supports layered PNGs. They end up being quite large, so you're better off exporting to PNG32 with just the layers you wanted flattened - it reduces the size by about a 2/3.

I have John Doe as one of my TV series. I am using the John Doe Dark background. But what I noticed is that from time to time the black area doesn't show up..... The black area shows for a second then disappears leaving the underlying background...this makes me think its a layrerd png...but I am also wondering if its just simply switching to the light background instead...hmmm...must check

Does your skin explicitly support it? Maybe a bug in the skin?

Spinsafe revolve is the reference implementation and it works fine for me.

It looks like Revision 1.1.7 definitly supports it from this screenshot: http://img297.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tvseriesfanartbb9.jpg

Try upgrading to this using 0.2.3.0 RC2 of Media Portal

btw...quite a nice skin, only thing stopping me from using it is the episode list doesn't use a fixed font

I tried the newest version and i still have the problem. All the skins I used support fanart. So it leads me to believe i've found some kind of bug, OR am doing something wrong with the fan art.

Can anyone think of why the skins wouldn't adjust themselves appropriately after seeing fan art?

    Hi,-

    FanArt Rulez !

    Page: http://jossan.visse.nu/~spuck/FanArtVote/uploadform.php

    Reports:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9216000 bytes) in /usr/home/webusers/spuck/public_html/FanArtVote/inc/func_resize.php on line 13

    Same problem here

Anyway, is there an easy way to find high-res pictures. I know there was like a press/media kit for every new show with highres-pictures, but i can't seem to find them. I can find some nice pictures on fansites of the series, but they are scarce.

I like the fan art in mediaportal, but is there a way to have a fanart for every season of a serie (the cast of season 1 of ER is really different from season 12).

Another fan art for scrubs :)
