User Fanart (1 Viewer)

Working on a script to filter out a smaller pack now, so there will be another one soon.

I was thinking
- 5 or more votes needed.
and
- A rating of 5 or above needed.
to start with and then maybe higher if the result isn't too good..

Anyway that gives 367 images and then also one image (with highest rating) from every show that doesn't fulfill the requirements. So we'll probably end up with ~500 images, is that too many?

It might be a stupid question, but why do lots of the fanart have a half-transparent box in the bottom left corner? I suppose it's for showing some information of some kind, but I don't have anything there. I never tested fanart before today. I'm using Monochrome v.1.4.

Yep it's really stupid, I've never gotten why it was made on fan art and not with the skin.. A few skins use that box to display episode description.

Mkay, looks like I'm gonna use the "series info panel"-xml until I can take some time to make my own fanart. One of the worst things I know, is such kind of graphical "errors" as that half-transparent box.

I'm thinking really cut down on the number of images for the starters pack. Top 3 images per series with min of 5 votes and min of 6 rating. I think by limiting the amount per series only the best get in (does the average user really need 20 diff. 24 (don't get me started on that series) fanart images).

Guess I'm guilty of that :-( When we (me and mirk) first experimented with fanart and identified the dark/light diff we quickly found that even that wasn't even for text in the skin to remain visible with most fanart (the concept really was full-blown overlay, like mirk's spinsafe revolve) so we thought if the fanart image itself could decide the level of overlay it needs (instead of a one size fits all of skins) it could make fanart look better. Of course this meant the position of the overlay text was on all skins was now fixed, but we thought it was more or less fixed already anyways just from the overall layout. In retrospect I guess it wasn't such a good idea.
