Video/graphics layers ? (1 Viewer)

In changelog.txt since 16-01 Frodo report this one:

add video/graphics layers so we can easily overlay gfx over video and vice versa

Which is the purpose of this addition?

Could we get an official word on this and how to implement it? Does this mean we're able to have a video playing within a skin, and overlay graphics (like a progress bar) over that video? A little clarification is needed, and I have no way of taking advantage of it if I don't know what it is or how to use it

As far as I know, it didnt effect fullscreen video. The most obvious problem (which is now fixed) was for example in the myTV screen, you couldnt have dialog boxes over the tv window because they would be placed under the video and be cut off.

Also occured with the lower preview box present in the homescreen. But thats fixed now so it gives more screen space.
