If I recall, the logfiles do look very different when EVR is enabled. If you use Vsfilter, it will show VMR9 as the renderer, but Haali's splitter correctly reports that is EVR is used.

The blacks are much deeper when EVR is used. Just start a film with black bars above and below. When you use EVR, those bars sort of disappear in very dark scenes. When using VMR9, you will see the bars as distinctly black, whereas the dark areas of the film are clearly brighter than the bars.

BTW I can across a thread that explains the reason why EVR has darker blacks and richer colors compared with VMR9 in Media Portal.

Trying to use EVR using just MP0.2.3.0 (i.e. no TV Server and no SVN). on Vista Home Premium with GEFORCE 7600 GS card.
On live TV Getting Jitter (very noticable on moving banners) with occasional resync.. VR9 in exclusive mode is better on the jitter, but suffers major glitches. Frame rate is synced to 25Hz which should match the UK tv signal. VR9 log (attached ) seems to log each jitter/resync.

Can you help please?

Thanks but I get Stuttering with EVR, with or without Aero (and yes, I get teqaring as well without areo)
Much less with VM9 exclusive, but I get occasional freezes (every hour or so) lasing 4-5 seconds.
I belive that I ought to be able to get EVR stutter free. Now that would be nice.....

Just noticed that with EVR the frame rate is hovering round 23, with jitter reported at 50ish and regular dropped frames (wekk theve got to go somewhere havent they) . With VM9 frame rate is round 25 , Jitter is 9, and no drops (appart froom every hour ot so, which I suspect to be a process, stealing CPU)

I noticed overall cpu resources are higher running under EVR. On my amd X2 4800+ it added around a 10% increase in the CPU load.

Are you using Windows XP? As the HW acceleration is not possible with EVR + Windows XP combination.

Sorry but frame rate and jitter "reported" how?

Press the "!" key while playing TV toggles a display. I dont know what ity all means (can anybody let me know, because it may helpme track the problems) but frame rate and jitter/snc etc are fairly obvious.

No I am using Vista home premium. My CPU usage is lower with EVR.
