i got your point paranoid but still everything else then tv3 works flawless on that machine, including the firedtv with its own firedtv viewer application... so there must be something else wrong... the problem is to find what it is, an i'm really lost atm =\

I do the satellite updates everytime i install a new svn before scanning but actually still no luck... it's like i choose hotbird 13 in the setup but mptv server doesn't care what i choose and scan the wrong frequencies?

what i mean is, that i had similar simptoms to yours (only 6 channels tuned from the whole transponder) when i confused the Diseq settings.
here is an example:

my real configuration was:
LNB1: 19.2
LNB2: 23.5
LNB3: 13.0
LNB4: 28.5

but because i was confused i entered these settings and only very few channels tuned with very low signal:
LNB1: 13.0
LNB2: 19.2
LNB3: 28.5
LNB4: - none

may be you could check the transponders, if they are on the same positions, as you think.

yeah... but i got only hotbird 13E so it's impossible to mistake... i was wondering if anyone of you could kindly make a full scan of hotbird 13E for me and post the xml channels file so i can try to import em and test if the card works, because i think it's just a problem of scanning... thank you

Can you verify with a setup box your dish is ok ?

In any case this evening I will export my HotBird 13°E channels and post the file here...

My dish is ok because i got a dreambox and it works perfect with good signal, same goes for firedtv with it's own viewer application. Thank you very much chemelli i'll wait for your xml =)

isn't there a way to scan the channels with another program and generates the xml to import it on mediaportal? because i've tryed to scan with every possible software i could find on the net and they all work perfect except mediaportal... now i'm not getting "no signal" anymore btw... it just find the same 22 channels on every transponder and continue updating them... *cry*

i fear its not that simple to transfer the database of tuner transponders and programms .
i think they are stored in SQL server database. i cant even open these files in read-only mode ...

check your "...\TVE Server\Truningparameters\13.0E Hotbird.ini" file.
is the content all right ?
you can download that file (original name: 0130.ini) manually from kingofsat, the path is stored in the satellites.xml file.

you may try to uninstall Media Portal Server/Client and SQL and reinstall them then.
