    Hi,
Vuego, since you don't have a clean install of MP + latest SVN & then configure it, you should copy the numbers to MP config yourself.
Btw, changing volume handling now will probably breake something for xp users ;)

On a clean install of latest svn i have these values:
    0, 4095, 8191, 10638, 12287, 16383, 20479, 24575, 28671, 32767, 36863, 40959, 45055, 49151, 53247, 57343, 61439, 65535

    Regards
    Roy

    hehe this is confusing.
Vladyman had 1638 instead of 10638. I tried your scale and I can go to 10638 but not 12287 (can't hear any difference in volume between 8191 and 10638).

But I think it's more important to get the Classic scale working since it's the default setting. Isn't the Classic scale also built in the same way, a series of custom numbers? If so we should find some working numbers. The goal is of course to have a working volume control ootb for both XP and Vista users :D

I tried uninstalling and removing all remaining files and then installed SVN 18359. My manually entered scale was again replaced by the scale in my previous post.
    This scale halts at 1234, 1467, 1744, 3479, 4135, 9806, 11654, 13851, 32845, 39037, 46395, 55141. All others work fine. What's the problem with those numbers?

I cured the problem by starting MP in XP compatible mode.

You will find that MP will crash at sometime. Change back the setting to start it normally. After that MP will control volume as it should be.

    Wierd but true  .

    the math rule is:

    0,
    4095,
    previous + 4096 = 4095+4096=8191
    previous + 4096 = 8191+4096=12287
    previous + 4096 = 12287+4096=16383
    previous + 4096 = 16383+4096=20479

    and so on.
It should also be the default on both XP and Vista.

I am using Vista Premium with MP and have encountered the same problems with volume control. I tried using the series of custom scales posted, and at first it seems to work (the entire scale shows and I can go up and down in volume) HOWEVER, once I go down past the last 3rd bar... I can no long increase it any higher past that!

On a side note, what is SVN that everyone is referring to?
