Probably it is the 2nd case, as in one of my tests I tried to load the disc image and MP crashed.

Mmmm, yes - that could do it.
Unfortunately your log files do not show the crash, so I can't investigate this part of your report any further.

Time to focus on the distortion/artefact issue...

    Hey :)

So answer from a Dev friend :p

So interlaced looking graphics is most likely from libbluray itself.
So, would be good to test with VLC then we know which one is broken also when the OSD graphics is left on the screen, we need to check with VLC.

Can you install VLC to compare ?

LOL, I think I can guess who you mean.
Please say hello, merry Christmas, and happy new year from me. This dev friend is sorely missed. :)

Sebastii: I have installed the VLC version you have linked in your reply. I'm sad to say that after opening the disc (Media > Open Disc > Blu Ray > Uncheck “no menus” > Set the BD drive) it just displays the attached frame and the yellow time-indicator on bottom keeps running from left to right and vice versa.

Installing the latest officicial release available in VLC homepage bypass all menus and starts playing the main movie. It bypass all the menus and doesn't give me the option to display them (or at least I don't know how to do that).

An interesting behaviour in VLC is that the seamless branching functionalities run smoothly. In MediaPortal video freezes about 1 second when substituting video sections in a movie. (For example, "WALT DISNEY PRESENTS" if English is selected, "WALT DISNEY PRESENTA" if Spanish is selected).

    Hi :)

I have made the test and it works on my side, so not really why it failed on yours :

We can see from bd_debug.log that it was reading PNGs :

It create a temp folder in my default modified system temp folder (G:\Temp\libbluray-bdj-cache\), yes i have moved my default temp to G:\Temp instead of c:\windows\temp (still i don't think it was related)

The log you need is the one that is created using the Windows environment variables trick? If it is, then you can find it attached to this post.

Please tell me how to make MediaPortal to open the file structure as a disk. I would like to test it by myself. There are many lines claiming Libbluray “failed opening directory”. I suspect the problem may be caused because of some garbage created by my on-the-fly decrypter (DVDFab Passkey Lite). In any case, I can't understand why the log claims that the directory is not opened. The file is opened and displayed! However, displayed with artifacts.

If it keeps failing, I will perform a fresh Windows reinstall and cross fingers :D.

You have just to copy the content to a folder, i have started your BD from the ftp folder directly, i just use myvideo and add the root folder to be able to navigate :p
I have seen also failed message from my log but still works :)

Don't do fresh install now lol, could be nice to know what failed :p

Just copy the content to a folder and open the Index file. Wow! So easy :).

I have tested it with different configurations and obtained the same results:
    • I have uninstalled UltraVNC service and closed the remote management application.
    • I have closed the antivirus/firewall
    • I have set the LAV video decoder to do not use any kind of hardware acceleration.
    • I have set the LAV video decoder to keep the color range untouched (as input).
    • I have set my nVIDIA video driver to always notify to screen the content is video and RGB output.
At the moment I will not reinstall the system... let's see if we have any other idea...:ROFLMAO:

  • About The Project

The vision of the MediaPortal project is to create a free open source media centre application, which supports all advanced media centre functions, and is accessible to all Windows users.

In reaching this goal we are working every day to make sure our software is one of the best.

  • Support MediaPortal!

The team works very hard to make sure the community is running the best HTPC-software. We give away MediaPortal for free but hosting and software is not for us.

Care to support our work with a few bucks? We'd really appreciate it!
