Well first thing then MP requires aero to be on.
Also are you using dxva ?
    Can you check temps ?

    From the wiki:

    Tearing

Means that there is thin line that cuts screen and upper and lower parts are drifted apart. In most cases this is because wrong refresh rate. This can also happen if AERO is disabled in Vista and Windows 7, or DirectX exclusive mode is Off in Windows XP, or VMR9 is used in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    Okay, thanks.

I've turned Aero on but still get the problem.
I'm using the DXVA2 (native) option set up in the LAV Video Config
Temp is within threshold (see attached).

Refresh is set at 50H which is fine for my TV.

Sorry...[DOUBLEPOST=1393590569][/DOUBLEPOST]I don't know if this is of any help, but I just started Media Portal in a Window as opposed to Fullscreen and the distortion still occurs out from the centre of the window as I move the Window around the desktop.

Is that while streaming bbc hd or idle ? I would say the tearing is definitely either heat or driver/vsync related unless anyone else can chime in ?

    it's whilst idle.

I'll be really annoyed if it's heat because it means I'm going to have to revert back to XBMC which, whilst it was usable, I'm not liking as much as Media Portal.

Thanks though, I do appreciate it.

    Anyone else?

It may not be heat but to rule it out i would run in windowed mode and stream the hd channel while monitoring the temps at the same time. What refresh rate settings do you have in config? is your vsync set to always on or app controlled ?
Also are you using EVR or VMR9 ?

    Thanks again.

Temp Monitor running BBC 1 HD: CPU: 44 degrees and System: 55 degrees.

I've set the vsync to Always On as oppose to Use Application Settings.

    Screenshot of Refresh Rate attached.

    Any help?

D[DOUBLEPOST=1393592774][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry, forgot to ask. What is EVR or VMR9?

In the config if you go to the codecs section there is a video renderer tab, just check what its set to it should be evr on win7. Only other difference is i have my refresh set to force.
Temps look good so you can probably rule that out.

Apologies, just realised how lazy that was.

I've checked and I'm using EVR.

D[DOUBLEPOST=1393593239][/DOUBLEPOST]And irritatingly, I've just changed to force the refresh and it's made no diff.

I can do. Any you would recommend?

Would that make a difference though, given that the video playback doesn't seem to be impacted? It's just the MP UI.
