I tried to install MP 1.35 this morning, but I couldn't get any further with the installation on the TV server, see error message in the photo. The computer name is 100% correct and it has to stay that way. I can't get a connection to the TV server, whether with MySQL or Microsoft's, sorry, I haven't opened MP at the moment because I'm on the move.

    Is this a first-time install?

There seem to be some problems with first-time installs of MP 1.34 and 1.35, so I would suggest that you perform a first-time install of MP 1.33, and then perform an upgrade install of MP from 1.33 to 1.35 (you don't need to install 1.34).

Others may actually know what the problem is and be able to offer different advice.

I can't say whether it's a first installation because it's an old Windows system. I installed 1.33 and then uninstalled it again. Despite that, when I installed 1.35 I got a message saying that 1.33 was installed and asked if I wanted to upgrade or reinstall. I decided to reinstall. I reinstalled the computer this morning but I'm not finished yet because I'm at work now. I hope to install 1.35 this evening and see if it works with the system. If not, I'll install 1.33 and upgrade to 1.35. I'll report back then.

Hello! Thank you for your tip, it worked great. Reinstalling the Windows system and installing MP 1.35 or 1.34 brought up exactly the same error message. Installing 1.33 and then upgrading to 1.35 worked great. I noticed that when I reinstall MP 1.35, the window with the "Allow access" button does not appear during installation. The MP programmers seem to need to take action here.

    I really wish I hadn't tried updating my installation, I was on version 1.31 x86, tried 1.35 x64, and now 1.33 x64.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro as a TV server. I've had this issue once before, a long time ago, but the only note I have is that the password is "MediaPortal" which is the default password.

    Any ideas please?

Need to get this working before tonight, or I'm in trouble.

I am fairly sure that attempting to upgrade from any x86 version to an x64 version is going to give problems. I believe it is recommended to uninstall and delete all traces of the x86 install including MySQL and do a fresh x64 install with Maria DB.

I'm at a total loss as to which way to go to get this fixed. If I type MYSQL into the start menu, then I actually have Maria installed, and can connect by opening the app and using the MediaPortal password. But I've got no idea how that relates to MP.

If I completely uninstall MP then I've got to set everything up again.

    Seems Maria was installed today

Yes, fraid so! If you urgently need to get it operational do you have a backup? Or maybe try to upgrade again with an x86 version but suspect the damage is already done so backup to the formally working 1.31 would most likely be the best option.

Digging around I have some export configs, but last one seems to be March 2022 :(

Tried various versions, even 1.31 x86 but alas it always comes up with the SQL test and fails, seems a fair few posters having similar issues, but no easy fix.

I guess it's an afternoon of attempting to reinstall, and setup again.

The trouble I have these days is remembering everything, I do have notes, but they don't always make sense nowadays.
