You need to turn on Dynamic refresh rate - having a refresh rate which isn't a multiple of the frame rate will cause drops and repeats. It'll look much better, trust me :) (and you'll be playing with MPAR before you know it, as the last few remaining ones will annoy you).

I find that running at 60Hz no matter the source frame rate provides really good results, well except when it's just stupidly low like in this case. I still have to give Dynamic Refresh Rate a try though.

I agree with David - if you can, you should use automatic refresh rate changing. This is the same advice I gave you last month! ;)

I'm not sure if enabling automatic refresh rate changing will solve the 17 fps. Maybe it will if the video frame rate is 23.97 fps. Log files are always helpful.

From a technical perspective that is not the optimal configuration. I guess your eyes aren't so sensitive to judder (repeated fields/frames).

ps. Maybe it will if the video frame rate is 23.97 fps
yes, with dynamic framerate to 50hz (y) or 24hz if the TV support it

No it won't, 17 FPS is just way too slow, encoding of that file was screwed somehow.

post the MediaInfo for this file
Shown 17fps is the speed how MP can decode and render it. Why - it can be many reasons, e.g. video decoder, audio renderer, etc.

This is one of the top search results for WMC having stopped working; thanks everyone for the useful information! My shell scripting skills are very rusty these days, so for those like me who are still rocking Windows 7's (or some later version of) WMC, I thought I'd post the (rather hacky) Python script I'm using as a drop-in...

Hi CyberSimian (and others) just a bit along the coast from me (near Exeter) - I know you are very long-standing! Not going to make this long winded or anything, but just to point out over the @15 years I've overall donated several hundred quid. And I begrduge NONE of it, not a penny - I do wish MP well - 100%. It is an awesome...

i love how subtitles are implemented in the MP2 videoplayer, this is just perfect. 1080p playback is also very good. But video playback in MP2 is buggy when playing 4k material. Therefore: PLEASE add an option for an external video player! I'd LOVE to have VLC back as videoplayer, like in MP1! This works perfectly. You will make a...

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...
