Re: WifiRemote - a tcp remote control server 0.4.1 [2011-08-19]

I use the example properties command

Code:
{
    "Type":"properties",
    "Properties":[
        "#Play.Current.Title",
        "#Play.Current.File",
        "#Play.Current.Thumb",
        "#Play.Current.Plot",
        "#Play.Current.PlotOutline",
        "#Play.Current.Channel",
        "#Play.Current.Genre",
        "#Play.Current.Title",
        "#Play.Current.Artist",
        "#Play.Current.Album",
        "#Play.Current.Track",
        "#Play.Current.Year",
        "#TV.View.channel",
        "#TV.View.thumb",
        "#TV.View.start",
        "#TV.View.stop",
        "#TV.View.remaining",
        "#TV.View.genre",
        "#TV.View.title",
        "#TV.View.description",
        "#TV.Next.start",
        "#TV.Next.stop",
        "#TV.Next.title",
        "#TV.Next.description"
    ]
}

and recieve

Code:
{"Type":"properties","Tags":[]}

as my response. I also receive no additional information updates when browsing movies or tv shows in moving pictures or my tv series. I assume this is the the method I am to collect information on what is highlighted?

    Those properties are used to show the "nowplaying" information. I don't know which properties are available for selected items, you'll have to ook that up yourself.

    Some examples:
    MyVideos: #title, #rating, #genre, #runtime, #plot (look at myvideo.xml, myvideoTitle.xml)
    MovingPictures: Skin Designer's Guide - Moving Pictures
    MP-TvSeries: SkinDesignersGuide - mptvseries - Skin Designers Guide for MP-TVSeries plugin. - MP-TVSeries: plug-in for organizing TV shows in MediaPortal - Google Project Hosting

    Ok, thanks Die. I thought it was in the wifiremote documentation, I will go check the others.

    Why would we document all available skin properties? That's really not the scope of the WifiRemote documentation!!!

    I understand now, I was lost in thinking wifiremote had its own independent structure.

    Hi Shukuyen,

    I'm trying to get WiFiRemote working. I'm using MP 1.2.0 Final (upgraded from 1.2.0 beta).
    I have dowloaded this installer: http://wifiremote.googlecode.com/files/WifiRemote.0.4.1_rc1.mpe1

    It installs fine, but WifFiRemote does not show up in the process plugins list, so I am unable to configure it.
    Is this a known issue? Are there any logs I can upload?

    Did someone already found a solution for this problem?

    Skeltjens

    Does this still happen with MediaPortal 1.2 (or 1.2.1)?

    Today I updated from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 to see if this problem was solved. But still cannot configure the plugin anymore. Then I get the JIT error. I was able to configure the first time after installing only. I've tried to remove the plugins and reinstall it, but I get everytime the same error.
    With the WifiRemote demo I can control Mediaportal but I can not configure WifiRemote......:confused:

    Did someone solved this problem already....?:D

    After studying the Sourcecode i found a solution for the JIT-Error.

    Got to your Mediaportal "User Files" Folder.

    Open the MediaPortal.xml file with the Editor and delete the whole wifiremote section.

    In my case the section looked as shown here:
    Code:

8017

no

WOHNZIMMER-PC

yUQBuXZA91s=

yUQBuXZA91s=

yUQBuXZA91s=

0

0

88884|Extra Menu|16002|GeckoBrowser|7972|HTPC Info|16000|InfoService|96742|Moving Pictures|9811|MP-TV Series|5900|My Trailers|88889|Skin Info|196200|StreamedMP Configuration|87258|Trakt|1|TV|88883|Watch Menu|16002|WebBrowser|0|Home|501|Music|2|Pictures|7890|Last.fm Radio|4|Settings|2600|Weather

-1|0|3005|730716

    After saving the xml File the configuration should work again.

    Can you also post the section after it has been recreated?
