Re: WifiRemote - a tcp remote control server 0.1 [2011-05-05]

I'm not getting this to work. Did several reinstalls (MP and plugin), running 1.1.3 on Windows 7 x64

The Democlient connects, but only manually and shows the "screen name" but the buttons are not working.

This is my log:

I think the problem is that the location of the mapping files has changed between MediaPortal 1.1 and 1.2... There should be a file WifiRemote.xml in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\defaults\InputDeviceMappings" -> copy that into C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\InputDeviceMappings\defaults

Re: WifiRemote - a tcp remote control server 0.1 [2011-05-05]

Just uploaded version 0.2. What's new?

    For users:
    * Fixed resume from standby
    * Added port check in configuration

    For developers:
    * Added command for requesting the nowplaying message
    * Added command for requesting the status message
    * Added support for polling (non-persistent) connections
    * Added "IsFullscreen" property to nowplaying messages

You can download the update from MEDIAPORTAL - WifiRemote or from our Google Code project.
I also updated the demo client to show how the new autologin works for interested developers.

Re: WifiRemote - a tcp remote control server 0.1 [2011-05-05]

    HI,

I don´t manage to conect Wifiremote with AMPdroid.

I have run the Wifiremote on my Windows 7, , activated in MPConfig and Pressed the Download Bonjour Botton, i didn´t choose any Authentifications.

On my Android Phone i installed AMPDroid, i set my PC name and my PC IP (192.168.1.15).

When i run MP, and run AMPdroid i get a mesages saying "no conexion".

I have open the 8017 port (TCP/UDP) port on my router.

    Do i miss somenthing,?

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Ok, is a problem with the Java BonJour, i download it from the web, now the control botton is working but i get no conexion or tvserver not found when i press for music, tv or film.

    any idea??

    Thanks

    Hi Shukuyen,

:D for your plugin, I'm using it with aMPdroid, which is really cool :)

But also with v0.2 I find MP crashed when I wake up my HTPC. Unfortunately I don't have more details:

    - NullReferenceException
    - Module: WifiRemote
    - Version: 0.2.0.0

It doesn't happend each time, probably there were some unattanended wakeup/sleep rounds for recordings meanwhile.

    :D again,
    Morpheus

    Hi Morpheus,

thanks for the feedback. Do you know if this happens directly on resume or after some action by the client (connecting, sending commands, ...)?

But also with v0.2 I find MP crashed when I wake up my HTPC. Unfortunately I don't have more details:

    - NullReferenceException
    - Module: WifiRemote

    no idea, sorry.

I only seen the exception when I switched on MP from standby, without any interaction. The exception could be happened already before.

If you provide a debug build of the plugin, I might be able to provide more information
