i'm trying to use beatharness with MP, i've installed it, but i can't select it in mp configuration (it's not shown in drop down list)... i've copied all files from beatharness directory to visualizations directory in mp...

    thanks in advance, regards

I have 1.12 running here and it works ok.

i have vis_BeatHarness.dll and the BeatHarness folder in the MP vis directory and it works ok.

The above applies to the Winamp version of BH, which is no longer supported / developed.

i was in contact with Lenni, the main dev of BH about a year ago and discussing about a dedicated interface.
at that time he didn't have time so there was no progress.
maybe i'll find some time later on, when doing the Vis stuff for MP2.

until then you need to live with the Winamp version of BH.

    BH can be downloaded here

haven't tried milkdrop v2 yet, as i'm still on older winamp versions, because of burner issues.

Edit: tried milkdrop v2 now. claims that it needs Winamp 5.12 installed.
need to talk to the bass vis people.
But it will definietly not be supported in MP1.

The reason is that the Vis Framework changed totally and i would need to rewrite the Vis suppport for MP1, which i don't want to at this stage.

No, i haven't removed BassVis at all. It is great code. Without it, handling Winamp Vis would be impossible.

I'm just not using the latest version, where the API has changed.
That wouold have meant too much testing.

I will use the new version of BassVis in MP2

Managed to get mildrop working and all but how do I change the fullscreen resolution of it? It just displays in some really low resolution like 320x200 or 640x480 tops.

    Thanks

EDIT: Never mind, for some reason I have to restart the first song I play after starting MP or it won't set the correct resolution.

EDIT 2: However, the milk drop plugin is causing all kind of issues. When I start playing a song a little window pops up and then closes (it does that in the MP configuration panel as well when you select milk drop, but then it stays open and displays milk drop). It seems this window sometimes makes MP loose focus, because I have to alt-tab back to it. Also, sometimes it doesn't display the vis at all. Clearly unreliable.

EDIT 3: Also, I have to start each song twice to get any sound whatsoever, unless I'm switching from one song to the other. I'm guessing some is due to my setup (using PureAudio plugin for ASIO play), but everything works perfectly if I don't use the milk drop plugin. Or it might be the PureAudio which doesn't like the milk drop.

EDIT 4: Must be the ASIO playing somehow. Getting problems with the Alchemy vis as well, mouse cursor disappears, vis not showing sometimes, no audio sometimes etc. Problem is I can't test with the BASS player only, because I've never got that to work on my system (using a Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1), even with the ASIO4ALL drivers (no sound). I have to use the PureAudio plugin.
No errors in the logs either, which makes it quite hard to look for the cause.
Ah well, I clearly have to do without the vis' for now then.
