This will not be part of MP until 1.3.0 is being created, no changes are in the 1.2xx, only show stopper bugfixes.

    I have completed the following:

In the folder ..../Programme (x86)/TeamMediaPortal/MediaPortal/plugins are the files:

    milk2.ini
    milk2_adapters.txt
    vis_avs.dat
    vis_avs.dll
    vis_milk2.dll
    vis_nsfs.dll

and the folder Milkdrop2 from winamp

However, when i try to bring up the visualisation in full screen, it stays blank!

Weirdly, when i go into Media Portal configuration a Milkdrop2 dialog box pops up. And when i close down Media Portal i can briefly see the visualisation in the Milkdrop2 dialog box.

I've tried using the files from Winamp 5.061 / Milkdrop 2.23

try deleting everything you mentioned but vis_milk2.dll and the milkdrop folder. the config file from winamp can cause problems. also clicking milkdrop config from MP config interface caused problems for me in older versions. recently its no problem any more.
besides milkdrop 2.25 is the latest one, i think.
anyways, i still need to enable multichannel upmix for vis reacting to music. else only basic movement shows up. but still sometimes milkdrop does not react to music.

    edit: MP 1.3RC
pretty late Winamp, copied vis_milk2.dll and folder to plugins

edit 2: just tried: after configuring milkdrop from MP config the vis showed no movement. but after deleting ini movement seems to came back again.

repack the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins

you have to install Gforce on OS

    here can download

    Winamp visualization of Winamp
a constant 50 frames per second
    low - middle cpu utilization

    look here

    good luck

Can I use the procedure from OP to get Milkdrop working on 1.3 Final?

    Hi,

I tried installing the milkdrop dll and the milkdrop folder from the latest winamp available in the mediaportal plugins folder. After doing that I can select the milkdrop visualisation in mediaportal.

Now comes the problem, that milkdrop isn"t responding to the beat of the music. And there is no indication on screen of the track that is being played.

    Are these known issues?

Try enabling upmix stereo to 5.1 in music config, that seems to fix the beat problem

Tried it and it seems to pick up the beat.

But... I want stereo playback! Sounds much better!

Any way to get that working?
