I got it reacting to the beat on the first try, but then I was stupid enough to go and mess with the settings and now it doesn't work anymore. I tried all the tricks posted here, but for some reason I can't get it working right again. Is this the only folder the plugin stores any data or do I need to delete something else too?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MusicPlayer\plugins\visualizations\winamp

There must be something else too, because it did work at first, but after fiddling with the settings it doesn't react any more.

Edit: Apparently I hadn't tried everything. The "upmix to 5.1" seems to work for some reason

if its work at fist start without config the milkdrop VIS try to edit the milkdrop.ini
an delet the entry "SKIN=0" an save the ini
every time you config milkdrop - del. the entry "SKIN=0"

i hope its work now again

Visualization Plugin's not work in Mediaportal.
that problem is the rendering engine
i have test it self with the last source of Mediaportal Framerate all time less then 60 Frames
and Mediaportal steel the focus from any visualisation so i can never work correctly.

Visualisierungs Plugins funktionieren nicht mit Mediaportal.
Das problem ist die RenderEngine (Design von Mediaportal)
Ich habe es selbst mit dem letzten source von MP geprüft und nach lösungen gesucht.
Aber leider ist die Framerate immer weniger als 60 Frames zusätzlich klaut Mediaportal
dem Visualisierung Handle den Focus.
Ausgenommen davon sind die eingebauten Visualisierungen.

I'm not getting milkdrop in the list of visulisations.. I have the files and folders:-

C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\vis_milk2.dll
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Milkdrop2\etc...

And I'm using Media Portal 1.2.0 Alpha

Das hat noch nie funktioniert.
Teste es ganz einfach selbst ohne irgendeine Visualisierung zu starten.

Starte MP im Fenster .. kein Vollbild
Starte irgendeinen Musiktitel.

Schaue auf die Laufschrift wie schnell sie ist.
Nun klick auf den Desktop so das MP den Focus verliert.

Schaue wieder auf die Laufschrift..
Diese zuckt nun nur noch vor sich hin
Laufschrift kann man das nicht mehr nennen.

Was glaubst du was passiert wenn du nun auch noch eine Visualisierung dazu startest?
Ich denke mal nichts.
Mit einer Framerate von 10 Bildern in der Sekunde (wenn überhaupt)
kann das niemals funktionieren und hat auch noch nie funktioniert.

Wenn es schon im Fenstermodus nicht funktioniert dann funktioniert es erst recht nicht im VollBild.

Mein System Win764Bit Ultimate , Nvidia gforce 285 , 8Gb Ram, intel core 2Quad 3GHZ, Leistungsindex 7,4

So is an update for Milkdrop to work with newest/latest versions of MP on the horizon? (OR) ------> Is this dead too? I've been noticing lately that a lot of plugs for MP aren't really kept up, as far as compatibility and with newer changes in the main MP program and with latest skins being used by many, many users.

Milkdrop is working with the latest version of MP

I think BassFan is pointing out some issues with the framerates it achieves but it is working on my system

Using the latest MP 1.2 code and the instructions in the first post I get milkdrop viz in full screen viz and also in the little window in now playing. I am not sure how to get the fps being used shown but they look reasonable to me

I have another machine with MP 1.1.2.0 version and the newest StreamedMP skin and newest patch. Will this work on this setup without having to reinstall everything over again with 1.2.0 Alpha? Thx.
