I have another machine with MP 1.1.2.0 version and the newest StreamedMP skin and newest patch. Will this work on this setup without having to reinstall everything over again with 1.2.0 Alpha? Thx.
I think it will work if you use Milkdrop 2.2 (not 2.2.1) which is in a particular version of Winamp (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...sations-finally-21481/index33.html#post682984)

Then follow the old instructions in the first post here

I think BassFan is pointing out some issues with the framerates it achieves but it is working on my system
yes it work .. not correct.
install Fraps and check it self for the Framerate.
my player shown a framerate for Milk2 with 99 frames per second
    and MP under 30.

No, it does not work with 1.1.2.0 and the Milkdrop visualization window opens up, and stays open as MP starts up then freezes. I have to ctrl+alt+delete to get out of MP. This is done with old instructions. Oh well. Thx anyway again jameson_uk. Peace..........

Re: AW: Re: Winamp Visualisations. Finally :)

I got it reacting to the beat on the first try, but then I was stupid enough to go and mess with the settings and now it doesn't work anymore. I tried all the tricks posted here, but for some reason I can't get it working right again. Is this the only folder the plugin stores any data or do I need to delete something else too?

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MusicPlayer\plugins\visualizations\winamp

There must be something else too, because it did work at first, but after fiddling with the settings it doesn't react any more.

Edit: Apparently I hadn't tried everything. The "upmix to 5.1" seems to work for some reason :)

    Hi Simbe

if its work at fist start without config the milkdrop VIS try to edit the milkdrop.ini
an delet the entry "SKIN=0" an save the ini
every time you config milkdrop - del. the entry "SKIN=0"

i hope its work now again

    greets

I also had the freezing MP at startup, but following those instructions about deletnig the SKIN=0 in milk.ini fixes it. Make sure though that you are editing the file in the c:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\plugins folder

    Usual steps apply:

    1. Edit Milkdrop config in MP Config, save
    2. Copy the milk.ini file from c:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MusicPlayer\plugins\visualizations to c:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\plugins
    3. Remove the SKIN=0 entry from milk.ini you just copied

This is working fine for me with MP1.1.2

Can anyone confirm that Milkdrop v2.2 Visualisations, work with the new MediaPortal 1.2.0 Beta , as i am having trouble getting Milkdrop to be recognised in config music settings Visualisations
If you have could you please tell us how you have set it up to work.
    Thanks...

I have sorted it out now, and can confirm milkdrop works ok with MediaPortal 1.2.0 Beta

Why have they moved it there, that is the strangest thing ever.... Seems very convoluted..

Also worth mentioning is the strange flicker thing you get on the video_overlay.xml.. This is annoying... I had this fixed in 1.1.3.. Any one know why this is back, I'm using Black Glass

Winamp plugins MUST reside in a subfolder named "plugins" of the executing application.
Otherwise you run into all kind of troubles, which we experienced in the past.

this is mentioned in the readme found in MusicPlayer\plugins\visualizations\

The milkdrop2 visualizations do not show up listed in drop down in MP config. And can't tick on winamp config button(greyed out). And also there is no readme file in MusicPlayer\plugins\Visualization?

I did copy the "vis_milk2.dll" and "Milkdrop2" folder from winamp and dropped them in Team MediaPortal>MediaPortal>plugins folder.

But, if I go by the old directions to drop the "vis_milk2.dll" and "Milkdrop2" in the MusicPlayer>plugins>visualizations folder, it shows up in the drop down list and tick on winamp config button with no problems, the winamp config window opens as it should.

The only problem here with the old directions is that when I start MP, the visualization window shows up and MP won't continue loading, my machine just freezes.

So the newer improved directions do not work with the latest release MP 1.1.3.0

Is this a known issue now,

Or could I be missing something?

Need help, Thanks in advanced. :D

I did copy the "vis_milk2.dll" and "Milkdrop2" folder from winamp and dropped them in Team MediaPortal>MediaPortal>plugins folder.

    Did you also copy "nscrt.dll" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal" ?

Here is a zip inluding all files & structure (german thread).
