I have Windows 7 now running for about 3 weeks and it does fine. Ok if you try to install you get some trouble. First ich had to extract the content of the downloaded exe file. then i had to move the content of the $outdir ( it was the directory with $ beginning but may have had a different name ) one folder up and set the mediaportal-installer tvserver-installer and the deploy-tool to run in Vista compatibility mode. Even then there are some messages saying: that the used operating system ins´t supported. Ignore those messages and install. After that MediaPortal itselfs runs fine. But the tv-server often stopped. So i had to make one change and start the tv-server again. but the strange thing is after completing the tv-server setup it runs fine without any problems. My Windows 7 runs 24 Hours a day seven days a week and recorded over 40 shows in the last week without any trouble. I´m using the Microsoft internal Codecs for TV and Videos ( don´t use them for DVD otherwise you can´t skip through DVDs ) its named Microsoft DTV-DVD or some thing like that. With my old Sony Beamer @ 1024x768 they make a very good picture.
The Windows Media Center can easily be disabled via the gpedit.msc and the autoplay can be deactivated through the control panel! I´m using the Windows 7 drivers for the complete hardware, even tv-cards and graphic card. For HD content i installed the Stand alone Filters for HTPC out of this forum. The only big problem i had was the mce remote. With the windows drivers MediaPortal only regonized the remote as general hid and therefore most of the buttons didn´t work. with the mce replcament drivers for vista and the mce replacement plugin for modeiaportal even the remote is fine. Ok some expressions from me :D Short Statement: MediaPortal on Windows 7 is some work but worth of it! I´m loving it :D

Sorry for my poor English

I've decided to throw caution to the wind and go hog-wild into beta-land. So I get what I deserve.

I've tried installing Windows 7 64-bit and I have 2 TV tuner cards (Avermedia A16R). Windows downloaded drivers for the 2 cards and (this is important) I can use Windows Media Centre to successfully find, tune, and watch all the TV stations. The cards at DVB-T and the stations are all digital ones.

However, if I try tuning for stations within TV Server, it never finds any. I've also downloaded the 64-bit Vista Avermedia TV tunerr app+drivers from their site. I can't find any stations using this, either.

I had no problems finding stations on this box previous to installing Windows 7. Somehow, Media Centre is able to tune the tuner cards, but the TVServer and Avermedia app can't.

A long time ago I recall that you had to disable certain services under MCE2005 to allow other apps access to the tuners; I've tried disabling the obvious one (Windows Media Centre Receiver service), but it didn't help.

Clearly, the tuners are working fine. But nothing else can use them.

Any clues where I can debug this?

It's not possible to watch and record a show at the same time.

You may be seeing the same problem I did, 7 only see's my tuner as a single tuner rather than a dual one, personally consider this a step back, found everything reacted incredibly slow, but then I run my Vista as full admin and have found this to be incredibly beneficial speed wise.

Also tried the new MCE version, must be me, as i found nothing beneficial to my needs, in fact It could not even decide which part of the UK I lived in (Vista MCE worked, sort of :)).

I'll confess I wasn't a big fan of TV Pack. Maybe I'm just odd but in MP I've organised all of my channels by broadcaster so BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4,... ITV1, ITV2, ITV2+1... etc. TV Pack made it an incredibly slow process sorting this out. Also, merging channels (IE BBC1 DVB-T & BBC1 South East DVB-S) was similarly painful. It really needs the equivalent of TV Server setup in my opinion. On the plus side, it looks stunning, is much easier to navigate in normal operation and does gapless MP3.

As to my reported problem, it's definately seeing all my cards. It fails when I try to do a multi-tune to get a second stream from the same tuner/transponder.

hehe, must admit, organising channels in any version of MCE is incredibly painfull, what takes 2 minutes in TVServer, you can guarantee takes 15 minutes at least in MCE :)

Im using widos 7 too mce is impresssive and some stuff can be improved on mp to behave more like the mce. MP has its own way doing things I gues. I like them both for different reasons, I would take MP home any day thou.

Just to be clear, I am talking about the GitHub access to the source code - using the Code button. I noticed that there is a link 'MediaPortal 1.36 Release' at the right-hand side of the page that takes me to page that has a link to the source code at the bottom of the page. That link seems to be virus free (according to Windows 10)...

MP has adjustable audio delay. I don't know whether this works for all video formats, but it certainly works for TS files, and may work for MP4 files. There is a slider that allows you to adjust the audio delay while playing a video. Press the INFO button on the remote control to display the OSD, select the "Audio" icon, and then...
