Steve thanks for the patch, it has now been applied (will hit anonymous CVS in a few hours) and will be available in the next CVS snapshot build.

Please test that the merge has gone okay as I don't have access to a USBUIRT.

Also I've had to fully qualify the calls to Application.DoEvents due to naming conflicts with new code we're working on.

Thanks!

Smirnuff.

I've downloaded the mediaportal-cvs-10-28-2005--19-22 snapshot, backed up my original install (zipped it), extracted the rar to my MediaPortal folder and run start.bat.

MP appears to be ok but configuration.exe crashes and burns with:

"An unhandled exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in Configuration.exe"

Launching the debugger does nothing for me

    MP log shows:

Clearly it's choking while loading the USBUIRT code :(

The changes I submitted work on my dev machine using the "MediaPortal_0.2_RC1_sources" posted on SourceForge. I don't have access to the latest source code so I'm not really sure where to go from here.

I've fixed the obvious problems. Steve it would be good if you could download a CVS client like TortoiseCVS or WinCVS so that you can work from the current source, albeit a few hours behind the live source, they literally take less than a minute to get configured.

Not a problem. I have installed TortoiseCVS and have the current source files from CVS. Is it ok for me to commit changes directly via CVS or must I still use the Patches mechanism?

I am getting the same error with the latest CVS... I will wait till the next one... and hopefully Smirnuff has fixed it enough for the config to run....

    Patch submitted.

In the meantime, I have uploaded a Configuration.exe zip with the latest changes to my website. I'd appreciate it if someone with the "mediaportal-cvs-10-29-2005--14-03.rar" CVS snapshot and a USBUIRT could give it a spin.

    [EDIT]
Configuration.exe crash fixed with lastest USBUIRT patch. Link no longer needed.
    [/EDIT]

    Thanks - Steve

    Hi steve

tried this with the latest CVS mediaportal-cvs-06-10-2005--01-17.rar and it didn't work :( but unzipped config and it works a treat

Unfortunately MP is now not working at all well for me - tv is now totally unwatchable and pixelated so i'll have to roll back which suck because using Girder is painful and you seem to have hit the sweet spot :)

    Couple of q's

Will you be adding more keys to the learing sequence? a lot of them are missing - noteably the play key and the channel numbers
Do you use the my keys plugin - I do and being able to progam buttons for the mytv, myradio etc would be awesome
can I help test for you? please pm if I can be of any help

Last would it work in older mp ie rc2 if I use you config?

I am very keen to see this working fully

    update

Ok so actually a quick reboot and tv plays find so I can stay on that CVS and carry on testing - must have been related to girder. However, I kind of miss a few things so maybe you can help

    hard to live without
    ch up and ch down
    vol up down and mute
    zoom / aspect
number keys for type channel number

I have several remotes so I handle this other ways short term ;)

But PLEASE don't take offence - what you have done for me is nothing short of a miracle and I am sure other USBUIRT users out there are all happy to kneel before you :)

    Thanks Steve you rock!
