He guys,

can someone tell me which "action i have to use to map a remote key to what useually the keyboard key "x" does.

I can not find the right action in the list. Otherwise can someone tell me the "keypress code" for the letter "x", so i can use "ACTION_KEYY_PRESS" en then use the number for the "x" key.

This is the last key i need, to make a marmitek native support xml file the same as the ATI one. Is it a good idea to post it here, so one of the coders can copy paste the ATI option to a Marmitek option and include the file "marmitek x10.xml" to the defaults directory. Then there is also a native marmitek remote support.

thanks!

OK i found out that the "x" is code 58, but i still do something wrong i think.

I have just one layer: "no Condition" Action=ACTION_KEYPRESS and then there are to input boxes next to each other both only accepting numerical input. But if i put "58" in either the left or the right, or even both the button on my remote don't send the "x" key in mediaportal?

Please can someone explain what i'm doing wrong here, beats me!

thanks

    just in case if noone can really help you (i can't) there is a freeware prog called eventghost. you can map any action (keypresses, progr start, windows cmds etc) to your X10 device. i use this so i can control 3rd party software additional to MP itself.

    but if you just want to control MP than the implemented version should be better for you. but just in case your interested:

    heres the prog:

    http://www.eventghost.org/

    here the wiki:

    http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/

    and another very good wiki:

    http://wiki.htpc-news.de/wiki/index.php?title=EventGhost

    the last one will only help if you'Re speaking german (-;

    smnnekho, thanks man, didn't saw that one before. Always used the tool from niveues (also works with marmitek)

    I will check this one out, it looks promising.

    Do you know, if it is then possible to use the remote with dos programs, like ZSNES. I love to play the simple games just with the remote, but can not get it to work with all the previous tools i used.

    technically.. yes. you can either simulate an Joystick / gamepad with your X10 device or do it with keystrokes. but you have to take some time to understand how the programm works. e.g. that an action happens as long as you push the button.(

    but i'm nut sure if it really is that handy to play emugames with a remote (-;

    the trick with eventghost is, that you can eg map a specific button on your X10 for a specific template so that "1" activates the emu template and deactivate all the other templates, und the Media button is mapped as MP_template so that you can control MP with the remote. there are endless possibilities for mapping every button multiply.

    but you have to check that on your own i'm afraid, but feel free to post or pm as there are questions because i'm using this prog for quite a while

    The action you're looking for is the "ACTION_SHOW_GUI".

    Thanks! Is it working both ways. i mean when i play a music file then the small preview window start playing the viz. If i then press x i get the viz. fullscreen pressing the "x" again goes back to the GUI, etc etc..

    I'm at work now, so thats why i ask. Later tonight i will test it.

    Yes. This action does all the "x" key does.

    OK thanks, it works! Little bit confusing because when i using it in the streaming media or music i am already in the GUI, so why showing it :D

    Shall i attach the XML file somewhere here (the marmitek has a couple buttons less then the ATI model, and two buttons are transmitting on same freqencies, so also useless)

    Then the coders can add native "Marmitek PC Control" support.

    Any actions in that list correspond to hitting the 'y' key perchance, mPod?

    On the TV screen anyway... trying to get the OSD to toggle on and off.

    Thanks
